Sheahan will probably go easy on the umps this round if only cause the main offenders are umpiring a Bombers game.
On the positive, since we're playing Hawthorn and the white maggots this week, we're more of an underdog, hence we're more of a chance to pinch it.

Ohhh my god! We are going to be raped...
If one was umpiring usually I pull my hair out but two together it's like your worst nightmare.
If you thought West Coast game was bad, wait for this one. Last time these two umpired together, they raped us against the Bulldogs.
I told my cousin when they were walking out, watch this, Bulldogs will be given free kicks for no reason in front of goal. It happened exactly. My cousin couldn't believe it. 7 to 8 kick on goals none were there.
Put your money on Hawthorn to kick the most goals from frees and Hawthorn to get the most frees. You will make money. It is a guarantee. They hate us.

On the bright side, at least Hirdy's not playing to aggravate McLaren. I think Ray has been less ‘sharp’ recently. Umps haven't beaten us this year though, it's been our own doing.

This thread is interesting to say the least.
No problems with Razor Ray.
A technical umpire but consistent in his officiating.
Mclaren is a worry !

They certainly did their best to become the focal point of the game...
I genuinely don't believe that any umpires favour teams or pay free kicks because of a dislike of certain teams.
The umpiring last night was disgusting.
That the umpiring is disgusting is a reflection on the values held by the rule makers. I would like some sort of study to be done with people voicing their opinions on whether they like how many free kicks are paid in a game and whether most of the free kicks paid should be paid according to what they believe is the context of the contest.
Australia football is a contact sport and rule makers have appreciated the context of the contest right through until the start of the last decade. Football has become a joke where decisions are made on the run by people who are trying to influence the way the game is played.
Hands in the back was brought in to increase contested marking. Has it worked? No, yet we have to live with hands in the back being a free kick unless it is a spectacular mark and when pushing in the back with another body part is no an infringement of the rules. How is an umpire supposed to interpret consistently.
Shoulder high contact was always about not having heads ripped off. If a player takes the should but not the neck or head it should never be a free kick.
Players have no opportunity to dispose of the ball. Even when tackles are not held and dont prevent disposal it is holding the ball.
Defenders are not allowed to make any contact from behind.
50m penalties are paid for misunderstandings.
Umpires manage to find free kicks in ruck contests based on the direction of the wind. God knows how they do it give that they are always stalemates.
Has anyone else notice that if the ball is bounced more than 2 times the umps find a free kick and the players generally stand around wondering what hapened?
We didn't ask for football to be officiated this way. I don't speak to anyone that actually likes it. We need to find a way to change it.
Just let the players play and only blow the whistle when something is manifestly unfair or dangerous.
