this guy is a total hack, and I for one hope he carries drinks for the whole tour. Why do we always see the same crabs being trotted out time after time ???
I think RogerC may be correct in questioning the future of australian cricket if this is the best we can do.

Kaspa's a better choice than Bracken or Nash [NSW mafia]

It could be worse. They could of picked Brendan Julian http://www.bigfooty.com/ubb/eek.gif or Joe Angel http://www.bigfooty.com/ubb/redface.gif

They dont just consider who the best bowlers are and take them. They look at the conditions and see who are the best bowlers to take. Michael Kasprowicz's seamers could prove to be a bit of a handful. This garuantees he'll go to England where the 'seam-factor' is much greater than India.

Arch, I was a bit spooked by the decision too but I guess he got the nod because he got a 5 for in the last tour to India when McGrath and Fleming were out.

What? Kasprowicz's seamers could prove to be a bit of a handful? For a start, the odds are overwhelmingly against him even getting a bowl over there. Not ahead of McGrath, Gillespie of Fleming. And on top of that, when's the last time an Australian seamer performed in India?

According to the way Steve Waugh spoke, our plan was to blast them out with pace. Then he appeared to abandon the idea when Brett Lee broke down. I don't see where Kasprowicz is supposed to fit in.

His test bowling average is 34.68. His average in Shield is 26.54. And that's playing half his games on the Gabba, which is tailor made for his bowling. Even Adam Dale's got a better record than that. And Kasprowicz's results from the last time he toured India don't exactly make for inspired reading.

Let's face it, he having a holiday on the ACB. He's a hack.

Ooh. I didn't notice that 5 for first time around. His overall figures are still pretty awful, though. And if he's the future of Australian cricket, I'm worried.

I disagree with those stating that Kaspa is a hack but he should never have gone on this tour does anyone really believe we will play a test without both Miller & Warne in the team ? That already leaves 1 spare quick. This is a bad decision.

Warnes only played one 1st class game since October and Fleming hasn't played a 1st class game since mid december

Yes JUBJUB but they're not in a touring party where places are limited. Also Warne's spot in the team was established beforehand, so he was always going to come straight back.
Or maybe it was just down to plain old Vic bias http://www.bigfooty.com/ubb/biggrin.gif http://www.bigfooty.com/ubb/tongue.gif
