sorry, what was it, the '40's the last time the Hawks went scoreless in a quarter?

Rarely have I found anything quite so satisfying as witnessing this

Ah yes. Going down without as much as a whimper. Good viewing for the masses.

I couldn't believe what I was seeing. The Hawks completely gave up. Once we got out to a 4 goal lead half way through the quarter, their efforts disappeared completely. You just don't expect that from their club. I'd be very worried if I was a Hawthorn supporter.

I'd love to have been a fly on the wall in their rooms after the game, listening to Clarkson. That would have won a Logie for him.

They've been rubbish for a long time.

Lets not get too pleased with ourselves.

Couldn't believe how easy they capitulated. When was the last time we kept a team scoreless in a qrt?

Our defence is a real issue though, hey? ...

Playing without one of our best defensive KPP in Pears and keeping a side with the talent of Franklin, Roughead and Rioli scoreless for a quarter of football. Not only that but restricting them to only 9 goals and 3 of them were from free kicks as well.

Hawks were terrible, but that's still a credit to our whole team effort to keep them scoreless in that last quarter when the game was still there to be won. Having our best midfield out there, made so much difference. Even without Pears our defence found things much easier just because we weren't getting smashed in the clearances for a change. Of course they were given an easy ride due to our ruck advantage.
