YEEEEE HARRRRR!

Aunty Shell dragged me off to have dinner with her gay friend and his new boyfriend tonight - so I've had to wait until the wee hours to foist my joy upon this board.

Random comments:

"All played well" sums it up. Though the backlines should get special mention. Sturt plugged away all day, especially in the third term, but were repelled time after time. Sherwood is the state's best defender - no argument.

Culpitt got BOG - but not in my eyes. Several times he had the ball dead bang in front, yet passed it off to a player on a severe angle. The disturbing thing is that there were loose Bays players waiting out wide, as if they were expecting it... FFS Heath, just have a bloody dob!

Stephen White is soft under pressure. Was worn like a glove all day, and was damn near useless as a result.

Plenty of Double-Blue leaving the ground early in the fourth quarter. Do the buses stop running early down Unley way? :D

A couple of Sturt fans came over to me & NM after the match to congratulate us and have a bit of a yarn. Full marks to 'em - that's what I like to see at the footy.

$3.50 beers! :D

I looked for Blues Girl after the match. Didn't find her. You missed out on a great big hug!

In the fourth quarter the goal ump signalled a Glenelg goal touched even though it was obviously well behind the line. He got utterly BAKED from the Bays fans behind the goals - of which there were a fair few, I was happy to see. Soon after another goal attempt was touched pretty much right on the line - and a goal was signalled. An obvious evener-upper, we all thought, since it was quite blatantly touched. A Sturt fan right behind the goals chucked a beer holder at the goal ref - and instantly drew attention from the ground security.

Frickin' temporary fencing - get a real oval, Blues...

Glenelg's first win at the ground since Sturt's return. Last one was 1984 by my reckoning, but I'll have to check that.

It's the first time since 1999 that Glenelg has won more than once on another team's home oval in the season. Also the first time since 1999 that Glenelg has beaten a reigning premier. Not sure when the last time was that the Bays knocked off the premiers on their own home oval - I'll have to consult Uncle Steve's Little Black Book of SANFL Trivia. Stay tuned.

And in closing, if I could quote the esteemed raboyle:

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Judging by the SMS I received, the bar in the club would have been a good place to look. ;)
