Best on Ground
5 - Ian Perrie (You little ripper!!!!!! What a good game from Srage. 15 poss. 11 marks. Had a couple shocking mistakes. Best game for a while)
4 - Tyson Edwards (4 quarter effort. That miss in the 4th when he sold 3 dummies was shocking)
3 - Jason Torney (Courage personified. A very good in and under game. He did all the hard things)
2 - Michael Doughty (I was impressed with him today. His first half was exceptional)
1 - Mark Bickley (A very solid game by Bicks. He was goo all day)
Best Team Man
3 - Ian Perrie (See above.:D )
2 - Scott Welsh (How good was he. Should have kicked at least 4. His tackling in the forward line was 1st class. God we missed him)
1 - Ken McGregor. (He was a rock in defence. Marked well and competed all day long)
Rookie
Martin Mattner - He played very well on Ablett. BTW Ablett will be a superstar. This little fella is a freak.
Terrific win today, we came up against a dour, tough, committed side, took everything they threw at us and came up trumps. Not much went right this afternoon, but we fought it out and got the W which is so crucial in the context of our season. I found giving the votes very hard.

Best on Ground
5 - Ian Perrie (Terrific game at CHF with 11 marks and a thousand contests)
4 - Tyson Edwards (went back in defence and gave from the backlines)
3 - Jason Torney(Swapped roles with Edwards and won plenty of hard balls in the packs)
2 - Mark Bickley (Similar game to Torney. Just worked his arse off)
1 - Graham John**** (Played with dash and anticipation in defence)
Best Team Man
3 - Ian Perrie (Has to be Perrie. Besides his possessions, he just kept presenting and contesting)
2 - Ken McGregor (Stiff not to be in the best players)
1 - Matthew Clarke(Worked very hard in ruck and gave King a caning)
Rookie
1. Mattner. Liked his game apart from some poor disposals at times. Effort - first class.

How bad was bloody umpiring.
Injuries:
Bode (Knee Strain)
Burns (Ankle)
Biglands (Corky)
Welsh (General soreness)
Ricciuto (Sore lower back)
Bodey looks to be the owrst. I doubt he will play before the round 12-13.:(

I thought the umpiring was pretty s/house too.
About 10 of their frees would have had to be ridiculous 'in the back' decisions... you couldn't touch them.

a very courageous, tough win under trying conditions. Very special mention to Welshy who played a top game in his comeback and also to Smarty on his return from injury.
BOG
5 Perrie - Verry good game - well done Sarge
4 Torney - Courage is this Jase's middle name.
3 Bickley - Please don't go, please don't go :(
2 McGregor - Solid as a rock in defence
1 Welsh - Provided a strong target, tackling was terrific
Team Man
3 Torney - He would die for the Crows - of this I am sure
2 Perrie - Strong hands - a great game
1 Goodwin - solid game from Goody

Lets hope the injurys are not too bad and that we can back up with another win against the Hawks in our only game at the MCG.

5. Doughty - I may bit a bit biased with this vote, but...he did play the best....I thought. FYI: That was a goal to him, no matter what that goal ump thought!
4. Perrie - Good strong marker....has stood up since Carey has been injured...he just needs to follow through a bit better
3. Massie - I thought he was consistant all match. Put great pressure on the cats!!!
2. Torney - My opinion: Best game he has played for us :)
1. Welsh - Talk about courageous. Some contests he provided were excellent. Especially with a bad gut/ribs.
Top Team Man:
3. Bickley - Always a GREAT team man... The award should be named after him!!!
2. Torney - Good back-up to the other players
1. Bode - Yes that's right, Bode....He may have only played a little but his persistance and encouragement to the team...I thought, was well taken

A teriffic performance - very invaluable 4 points. I thought Perrie was great both individually and a great team player in the way he always contested and presented himself in the crucial link from midfield to forward.
I was delighted with Scotty Welsh's contribution expecially under sufference and thought that Biglands batled on really well after that nasty knock and loved his last 1/4 mark. Doughty was very good and deserves more opportunites in the side. Bickles and Eddo have been consistently putting in every week and seem to always do a good job in away games. I am really happy with the way John.ock is contributing to the team.

Sheesh, Perrie 5 votes? I was livid at quarter time with his inability to hold his marks, and his poor kicking when he did ocassionally hold one (one into the man on the mark!). He redeemed himself in the second and third quarters, but enough for BOG? Hmmm. Edwards clearly the best for mine. I might watch the match again before I give my votes.

As you say each to your own, and you are on your own here IMO.
I might have grudges against a few Adelaide players, but Perrie is not one of them. I did defend him when others called for his delisting at the end of last season.
Anyway, I just thought Perrie's first quarter was atrocious. At quarter time all I was thinking was... Mark Stevens your team needs you!
OK, credit where its due, his second and third quarters were impressive, he held his marks and made his kicks count. I might even give him 1 or 2 votes, but two quarters does not a BOG make.

1. Edwards
Team Man
3. Perrie - Constantly presented himself, believe his influence will be a lot clearer once he has a bit of extra help!!!
2. Welsh - This bloke, big call, his form could be the barometer to how this season pans out for us, fantastic return, until Milburn got him, great to see the skunk hairstyle Scotty!!!!!
1. Clarke - Battled well with one of the better ruckmen in the country, think the new ruck rules have suited his game nicely, probably the best 'tap' ruckman going at the moment, reminds me a little of Mick Redden, just wish he dropped back and took the defensive mark like the farmer used to.
Rookie
1 for Mattner, servicable on a player of the future, kept him reasonably quiet, as green as grass, he will continue to improve!!!
Finally, I thought we were flat today, fantastic to grind it out and get the points. Take those and get on to the next round.
Hawthorn, I have the feeling, will be a difficult prospect on Saturday, they arent a flash side and they are under the pump, watch The Sun & The Age bag them this week,2nd week on the road for us, we 'should' rip them a new one, not sure if we will!!!!!

Dont totally disagree with you mate, Ive only seen the game live, certainly not one for the archives, was our best player by a street IMHO, albeit with a few beverages, he had a few mates in the 1st Quarter!!!!
I think hes done well over the last month considering hes had little or no assistance!!!!

POTY:
5. Perrie - Some very hard decisions coming up for the selectors if we get all our talls back. Perrie would now be VERY stiff to be relegated to the twos.
4. Massie - Contested and contested and contested some more.
3. Welsh - Welcome back Welshy! Kicked goals and provided excellent pressure to keep the ball up forward. Milburn should be reported but his team mates like H Kennedy wouldn't have the guts.

5. Edwards - fantastic 4 quarter effort & stood up in the midfield when our gun 3 were down.
4. Perrie - Narrowly missed out on my BOG selection. Another top effort by Sarge giving us a genuine go-to player in the forward line.
3. Bickley - Great leadership effort. Always encouraging our younger players & lead by example. How about that tackle which allowd Gags to kick the goal to put us in front.
2. Torney - Why were Richmond so desperate to trade JT? Some of his desperate efforts were an inspiration to teamates.
1. Clarke - Comprehensively beat King in the ruck, which was critical as King is the Cats best matchwinner.

However Macca is one of those players who gets noticed when he does something. The fact he only played one good quarter seemed to escape Dermie.

I'm biased, but I'm surprised more people haven't given votes to Doughty.
I thought he dominated, but that might just be because I pay more attention to when he gets possessions because he's my favourite player.
He was pretty solid and got a lot of the ball.

I love going down to Geelong when we win! Well done Crows!
POTY:
5 - Ian Perrie. Good on you Sarge!! A fantastic game. 11 great marks, a top shot at goal and good chasing, Hopefully this will silence some of his critics and help him maintain his spot in the side.
4 - Tyson Edwards. Tried really hard all day and played well. Some of his disposal was poor though.
3 - Mark Bickley. Good game and fantastic tackle that finally got rewarded in the last quater and helped seal the game.
2 - Scott Welsh. Thank god he is back! He is a wonderful kick at goal and his 3 goals were really valuable.
1 - Matty Clarke. In great form this year.
Mentions to Torney & Doughty! I was at the game and didn't really notice Doughtys impact until I watched bits of it on TV - he was unlucky not to get votes, Sorry GoSouth!
BTM:

Marty can have a vote this week. In my opinion he didn't do too badly on Ablett. He stayed close to Ablett all day and this was not his worst game. His two Out of bounds on the full were shocking though!!

5- I. Perrie. Proved to be a strong focal point for us, and he was able to hold his marks well. Very strong performance sarge!!
4- T Edwards. Played a good game, and as always, is very reliable.
3- J. Torney- just about his best, or near best, game for the club. So glad we picked up this guy!.
2- S Welsh. WELCOME BACK SCOTTY!!!! He really showed how much we have been missing him. Took a couple of strong marks, and his tackling was very impressive. Lets just hope he can be injury free for the rest of the year, because he is very important to us, and probably one of the most skillfull at the club.

2. S. Welsh- in his comeback, i thought he was excellent. Can't wait to see what he is going to be like with more games under his belt!!!!
