Monfries to the midfield?

In my opinion his engine, understanding of the contest, and attack on the ball have reached a stage to warrant another test.

I was impressed by Monfries playing freely up the ground this week. He was actively getting involved in running plays and that 50 metre pass to Hurley in the last was sensational. Shades of Shaun Higgins.

With Mark Williams potential return to an already crowded and inconsistent forward line, combined with Welsh leaving a lengthy midfield vacancy, could now be the time?

I tried this and got smashed for it, good luck sir ;)
Zaharakis, Davey, Williams, Lonergan and Reimers are all small/medium forwards too.
Unfortunately the people are right, he will never be a midfielder.
Also if Zaharakis improves his accuracy he could have kicked 15-17 goals for the season, he is currently 9 goals - 11 Behinds, finds the ball in the forward line well.

Last year I probably would have agreed with the others, but this year he seems to have matured a lot, a senior player now, seems to have a lot more confidence and takes ownership.

Agree with leaving Zaha up forward, if he keeps up his average, he'll kick 35 odd goals for us, and I think he'll actually improve on that.

Can't we just load him up on growth hormones and let him be a monster CHF?

why be so quick to discount this? he played his footy at sturt through the midfield, and was a gun, even in senior ranks. he's got the footy smarts and skills to at the very least be part of the midfield rotation or even play HFF as a '5th' mid.

I am discounting because of a thread I made about 2 weeks ago, where I was smashed in the eBalls for asking the exact same question.
