look where he bats in the one dayers 7-8 and his strike rate is about 80 thats alright.

considering he had a stint at aussie level 6 years ago and he got called up and expected to be shane warne within a week i think he has done alright

his oneday bowling is a lot better then test but again he has been expected to take 4-5 wickets a game like warne so get off his back and lets see how he does against india here and over there

Cam White??? He is the most overhyped kid I've ever seen.

Brad Hogg - I agree that he didn't do enough to make it to the Australian team for a stint, but since getting in he has actually done quite well but he's Windies tour has been quite ordinary.

Some people have very short memories... Hogg has made some valuable runs for Australia coming in down the order. He scored 71 in the 2nd VB Series Final against England, basically helping the Aussies get a decent score of 229 which they could defend. His bowling has been solid without being anything special.

Hogg will always score the occasoinal big score because he hits the ball pretty well.

A batsmen who can hit it hard is always going to be a guy who can bob up and make a decent score now and then. A batsmen with a good technique will mean they are consistent with they're scores.

Hogg doesn't have a great technique, so he's in the "occosional big scorer category" which can be very useful at number 7 in the one day games.

Kinda like Wavell Hinds. He's got a shocking technique - probably the worst of any recognized batsmen in international cricket outside of Zimbabwe and Bangladesh, but he hits the ball bloody hard, hence a few big scores on this tour mixed in with a lot of failures.

Spin bowling in a ODI is extremely difficult - in fact it is probably the hardest type of bowling of all in any type of match.

If you bring in Cameron White at his age into ODI now you take a serious risk of destroying the future of Australian spin bowling.

I seem to remember 12 years ago when a blonde Victorian went out onto the SCG and proceeded over the next 4 days to be belted everywhere in the ground and have the dreaded bowlers century up against his name for 1 wicket. It would've been people like you who would've said send him back to the Victorian shield team and never mention his name again.

Well history says he has 489 Test wickets now. Who knows what White might be.

Well I was seven when that incident happened at the SCG happened, but anyway......

I haven't actually really seen much of that footage, but I've never been the type of guy who judges a cricketer purely on what their results are.

Cam White won't have the future he's been talked up to - at the moment he's batting is better than his bowling.

Shane Warne was always going to be good because he spins the ball - it doesn't matter what happens, spinning the ball is the key. Thats why MacGill picks up so many wickets.

White doesn't spin it - Beau Casson is a much better bowler than White, but unforunately Casson is trying to perfect the art of left arm chinaman, which even the best of shield chinaman have failed at test level or not given the chance.

Wrist spinners come on later than finger spinners do for some reason.

Shane Warne was originally picked up by St. Kilda as a batting all-rounder. At that stage his spin bowling wasn't thought a hell of a lot off. Plus spinning the ball on some Aussie 1st class pitches is near impossible. The WACA doesn't spin and Hobart is too green. Adelaide is flat half the time and who knows what you you'll get at the MCG because the Vics sure don't until match day.

Cameron White? Surely April Fools Day has come late?

This guy struggled to make the XI Victorian State Side last summer. Need to see more of him to make a valued judgement.
