When India announced their test squad of 14 players, 7 of the 14 played in the recent Australia v India 'a' match.
Since when do 7 players from the test squad become eligible for a spot in the India 'a' team. India 'a' my ass.

They are entitled to pick whoever they want. It may have been done so the fringe players (some in the squad, some outside it) could compete for spots based on the same criteria (opponents, conditions, etc).
