posessions about equal. For us, the +ve was that after a chain of handpasses, we kicked deep into the forward line with monotonous regularity, and tended to play down the centre corridor whenever we could. signs are there that that wallaces gameplan is starting to become a memory.

clearances: 42 vs their 40. However if you had taken that stat about halfway through the third quarter, we would have been WAY ahead. 9 to darce who played a blinder, 6 to west, 5 to guido ! and 4 each to dimma and hahn.

tackles: 4 to guido and robbo, 3 to garlick. They laid many, many more tackles than us, I think partly due to our monopolization of the ball for most of the game.

marks: 7 to west, 6 to kirtter and darce, 5 to croft, johno and garlo.

johno with 1 clearance and 1 tackle. Is he taking his turn to win the ball when the opportunity is there, or is he concerned only with being a link man? He did spend a while up forward I suppose.

d50: darcey with 5 !, robbo, gudio, macmahon and hargreave on 3. I guess a lot of the time, when teams got the ball inside 50, they had a scoring shot, so a very weird game from that point of view.

f50s: about even, us 59, them 61. Smith with 7, playing a very attacking role, often starting on the wing. guido, darce, dimma, hahn, west, garlo on 5 each.

clangers: bowdo 4/13, dimma 5/23, darce 5/23, johno, 5/26

special mention to harris who got 5 posessions and no goals but was very influential while he was on the ground. Chased well when he didnt get it.

bowdo: a forwards forward. refuses to show any interest if there is no opportunity to take posession. Probably not a bad attitude so much as an ingrained habit which needs to be stamped out.

Most vital Stat:

When the game had to be won in the last quarter the North leaders stood up and the Doggies leaders failed.

Simpson, King, Stevens and Harvey have more influence on the game than our top four players on the day.

Darcy had a great game until Leigh Brown went into the ruck. Johnson had a good game bar 3 clangers in the last quarter. Kritter had a shocker. The rest of the team seems to freeze up. Not desperate enough when it counts and its not just the young guys its our senior group also. West and Guido played good games but did the beat their opponents. No.

Most important statistic is that we have lost 9 in a row and the most tragic stat is that we had winning opportunites against Essendon,StKilda,Carlton,Adelaide and North.
It breaks your heart.

Another important stat, less than 25,000 turned up on Saturday afternoon, two Victorian clubs albeit with small supporter bases.
We should never make financial losses against Vic teams at TD.
