Showed his value when he was replaced by Bruton in the ruck.

He seemed to be more willing to go back to his old style of grabbing the ball from the ruck contest. Maybe he figures getting pinged for holding the ball once or twice a game is better than not getting a hand to the ball at all. If so, i agree with him. A few free kicks (into a flooded oppostition forward line) is better than 10 fast breaks becaues the oppostion ruckman has tapped the ball down the throat of an onballer like McLeod.

Now if he can just take some contested marks around the ground...

credit where credit's due, Darcy played well - his best for the year by far. It probably goes to show just how important he is to our performance, he plays reasonably well and the running players foolow the example and utilise their chances in the middle.

Would love to see him start taking more contested marks around the ground and possibly start kicking some goals again. He is of more value to us pushing forward (as opposed to Wynd down back) but is being pushed down back out of neccessisity.

Would you prefer him to push forward more often or are you quite happy to see him drop back for the majority of the time?

Still nowhere near enough contested marks for a guy of his stature.
An improvement but needs to kick goals.

How many contests would he be in a game on average, and how many would he take?

A good game yet his direct opponent from half way through the 3 quarter "Leigh Brown" had more influence on the game from that point on than Darcy did. Thats when the game had to be won.

Brown was fresh, darce would have been pretty buggered.

We are missing Bandy.

Bandy at CHF, Grant at CHB and Bassett on the bench to come on after the Kretiuk brain explosion and we would have won the game.

While Darc has been poor we incredibly lead the league in centre break clearances, I think his actual ruck work is under valued.
