India all out for 176.

Australia would have to be very happy with keeping India to that score. Apart from Tendulkar's knock, nobody else really troubled the Aussies.

Yet again, Steve Waugh's made another good decision by sending India in first to bat

Nice start, was a little worried with the average performances in the practice matches.
But once again we have stamped our authority on the match nice and early.

GO AUSSIES!

That Tendulka looks a fairly handy cricketer. Could have a future.

I'm not sure how the pitch is going to stand up to four or five days. Once the hardness goes out of the ball the batsman can just about hit it in the second bounce.

Tendulkar was playing on a different pitch to the rest! He must have been.
Fleming, Warne & Gillespie (to a lesser extent ) were made to look like hacks. Then you see Warne all over everyone else like a rash. It is scary how good that guy is. Anyone who doubts who the best player in the world is go buy the tape.

Tendulkars great in India, out of India hes still great, but stuggles on green-tops.

If i needed someone to score a century for me to live and i didn't know the wicket, the bowlers, the outfield etc,. i'd rather Steve Waugh.

Australia are now at 5/230 in the middle of the 53th over. Gilchrist and Hayden have gotten us out of trouble considering we were 5/99 at one stage earlier on. Bit of a risk with Mark Waugh scoring a golden Daddles - maybe we should of played Martyn instead?

Anyway Hayden has been smashing a few 4s off Agarkar (A-gerkin) and looks set to bring up his ton within the next few overs.

Gilchrist's innings has been one of the greatest ever. we were in a lot of trouble and hes prepared to play his shots. Hayden's innings was great aswell, but Gilchrist has totally overshadowed him.

Gilly scored 67 between lunch and drinks.

Does anyone know the last time an Australian scored a hundred in a session ? I think it was Doug Walters ???

of course Mark Taylor scored a hundred in a session in his 334* in Pakistan...although the session was 3.5 hours long due to Friday prayers so it doesn't quite count !!

Last time wouldve been in 1990/91 v England. In fact, i think thats the last time any player from any country did it.
Pity Gilchrist just fell short.
