Just down at bombers training at the moment. Doing lots of goal kicking practice with BT.

Winders potting a few from the boundry is nice to see. Leroy is out there, as is myers so I would be expecting they would be playing. No sign of houli tho. Dempsey didn't take part which has me a little suspicious. Knights had quite a long chat with Leroy which gives me confidence he will play. Bt did plenty of work with Zaharakis which was good. Gumby also didn't kick.

Gotta love riemers sneaking out and having a few one handed shots even with knights telling him to "just get inside and worry about getting your hand right" only to be followed with "yeah I'll just have a few". Love it.

Gees it's cold.

Thanks a lot for the write up.

Is Hurley traning? if so is he taking part in the goal kicking and how is he going with that? We all know he didnt want to kick the ball last week particularly on his right foot

Brian Taylor?

I thought he was working with Collingwood?

If that's true, that's great. We need to correct our awful kicking for goal.

Cheers.

Ahhh Reimers gotta love the guy.

Hopefully nothing wrong with Gumby and Dempsey if they wern't kicking, unless doing rehabish type excercises perhaps?

Apparently he became our goal kicking coach last week.

Does this mean we didn't have one previously? This is one area we've been atrocious at for years, how could this not have been addressed earlier - other than recruiting Williams.

Oh well, it's been addressed now.

For all of Knights' flaws, his restructuring of our off-field set up has been, for the most part, what we've needed. Now if only we could get some decent assistants to help him, Richardson, Hickmott, Madden, and Cormack.

And Dean Laidley, maybe Hird too. And Lloyd.

Laidley in particular would have been a great assistant, he was always an excellent tactician and game day coach.

He gave up at collingwood because they just refused to give him the time to work with the players so he just said stuff this and left.

Gotta love Reimers :D

Good to hear that we have got BT and are doing lots of goalkicking. Dempsey and Gumby not participating is a bit worrying.

Well training was a good indicator for Jetta and Myers getting named. Lovett Murray was out there but not kicking, I see that is the reason why now.

As for Hurley, he only took a couple of shots, on his left boot however. Perhaps just giving his knee a break.

As me and my mate were having a kick, the ball bounced over to Fletch over the fence and he took a snap, grandstand side, and it just trickled through the goals.

Champion.

"Get him up here, I wanna boof him!"

EDIT: Don't you just hate it when Bill Lawry hacks your account?

RIP Jam Master Jay :(

Back on topic, and I agree with the earlier point that not having a goal-kicking coach is ****ing disgraceful. Naturally I'd like to see Lloydy assume this role as his technique was second to none, however it's a bit early to see him return imo.

If Hirdy does make a play for a role as a coach, I'd like to see him installed at Windy Hill with role to mentally conditioning the players. He can have side roles here and there by running drills at training, assisting game day in the box and running other one-on-one stuff ... but above all I'd like to see him have a role where he's mentally drilling our lads.

To me, that's the thing I notice about Collingwood. Extremely well drilled and focused team. Not sure if Bucks or Malthouse or Brown... or whoever is responsible for that, but when they run out they're mentally as sharp as a tack. That's what I want from our lads.
