Listening to ABC radio and they said he did a "Violently bad hamstring" when running out of defense.

Yer he came off limping but at least he made it to the boundary unassisted.

One of the worst injuries that could have happened, definitely one we could not afford. Terrible...

Another young defender injured :( Hopefully Pears is back soon, bad for Cale though.

Terrible news. Both our young key defenders gone to injury.

I mentioned last week that we are 1 or 2 injuries away from having an imapct on our season - At least in the short term.

Apparently Pears is a chance to return next week.

Really feel for you guys this year, your kind of my second team, can't catch a trick with injuries so far. :thumbsd:

A win today would ease the pain.

by christ this is a kick in the nuts. He was playing like a champion, just champagne form, now this. **** me dead. At least we have the luxury of Hurley behind the play, but that squeezes our forward pressure :(

Grade one tear apparently.

3-4 weeks the blokes on abc radio were told, by our medical staff apparently.

Hopefully it's no longer than that.

Really bad luck Cale. Study those tapes mate, and we'll see you round 13 - 14!

(3 - 4 weeks would be great. I was thinking it would be 4 - 6)

The Herald Sun Jinx hit's again.

Write a feature on an Essendon Player and he's sure to get injured. :thumbsd:

The only positive is we have some depth to cover this. I wouldn't risk pears next week, but bring one of Williams, Neagle or Daniher can come in next week, and hurley will have to spend another game down back.

Pretty simple really. Bring in Williams (deserves it) and send Hurley down back for next week. Bring Pears in for Round 10, and push Hurley up forward where he usually plays good against the Dogs (kicked his first goal against the Bullies last year).

4 weeks I can live with. Sees him out till Rnd 12 (split round?). Not as bad as it could've been.

Pears is, what, 3 weeks away? We're in a bit of trouble but it could be worse.

No way, could come back next week even.

Coaching staff will most likely leave him out until we play Footscray though, just to be sure.

Didn't someone here start a thread about there being fewer soft tissue injuries now? Dammit.

Frustrating for Hooker, he'd just started to show some better signs. :(

Hope its only the standard 3 weeks. He's been in brilliant form.

When he came off, and Hurley went straight back, I said to my bro "I really like the look of our forward line like this. Gumby and 5 smalls... (obviously resting ruckmen went back there later also) but I think it was a lot more dangerous with the extra speed.

Yer he came off limping but at least he made it to the boundary unassisted.

lol. He tore it running over the boundary, and quite close to the interchange for that matter.

I like this.
