View Full Version : Congratulations Jake Melksham
Jake Melksham the Round 8 Rising Star :D
Really? I wouldn't of picked that on his performance on Sunday.
Congrats anyway for the kid. He looks as though he will cement a spot in the starting team. I love his skills & decision making. Looks a good player for the future.

Bit lucky, but take it anyway. He's definitely shown some real class to date. Now for Zaka, Colyer and Hurley...
Must've won for his guitar hero celebration.

This kid looks really good. He needs to beef up but thats the easy part. Importantly, he has good skills and can hit a target. Just oozes class and is the classy midfielder we really need.

Milkshake oozes class and talent. Still needs a couple of pre-seasons in the gym before we see the full potential too...

I reckon it's the best name.
Rewarding consistent performances.
He's delivered a lot faster than I anticipated. :thumbsu:

I thought his nickname was 'Milky'....
future star, good engine, poise, class, pace...just needs to get on the steroids

Definitely has. I was half expecting him to live up to being a skinny mid, and then watch the calls on this board to trade him to the GWS for 2012.
Glad to see he's doing better than that. :)
Anyone got footage of his first goal? Kept the ball in around a port player, got a one-two and snapped it from the boundary.

I wish I had all his game footage, would make one hell of a 4-5 minute highlights package already.
RIG used to post clips on youtbue?

I am pretty sure the nominations are dished out based on sustained output, rather than a single week. But I could be wrong.. He has been very consistent.
Ready for Hurley's nomination for Round 9!!!

Great goal, His 2nd and 3rd efforts gave him that and he deserved, Would have to be the goal of the year so far from all the essendon goals IMO

Must've been a slow week from the youngsters across the league, was far from his best game. But congrats all the same, was only a matter of time.
i hope MelkshamWow isnt his real nickname, it sucks balls!
Agreed, bloody terrible nickname whoever dished that junk out.
It's not his actual nickname, I'm assuming, but rather one he's developed on BigFooty.
Much like Hurbleton; I don't expect the guys call them that down at training.

Just on BF or not, MelkshamWow is the worst nickname in history of football. Congrats to the kid, but drop the shit name.

Its funny we have brought in so many players over the years that have had that 'special' feel about them but so few have been classic midfielders.
Great to watch him run around, I think we have a real player on our hands.....
ShamWow does the job. No need for the Melk part.

I can see "Milkshake" evolving into "Milky".
Just saying.
Melksham will evolve into this (I'm sorry to say)...

Consistency from a youngster is nothing to gloss over.
As he adds a few kg's he could solve some of our midfield issues :)

Melksham is pure class, hopefully the first of a few nominations for Essendon players this year.
You need to realise that the Nomination for the NAB Rising star Award is given by Kevin Shifter Sheehan.
Sheehan has his favorites and Melksham fits into this category.
In saying that melksham is a worthy winner and may end up in the top 5 come season's end.

Just thought I would let everyone know that Jake is not just a top player but a top bloke! He knew I was a fan of his and doing it a bit tough and actually gave me his signed match worn boots that he kicked that first brilliant goal of his career with!! I couldn't believe it... they would be worth a mint being match worn and the boots that kicked that goal, especially if he goes on to be the next jimmy hird. But I won't be selling them anytime soon!
Thanks Jake, your a star! :)

What a great bloke! That's the sort of bloke we need at our club, hope things are getting better for you Bossman also!
I remember hearing somewhere that he has had the same girlfriend since a very young age, that's very much unlike your usual footy player, most get the fame and instantly go WOOT POON! He seems like a dedicated youngster :):thumbsu:
