I think a very underated performance of satan is Billy Zane in Tales from the Crypt Demon night. Also like Gabriel Byrne in End Of Days.

For what it's worth, I thought Peter Stormare was awesome in Constantine, albeit his short onscreen time. Oh and, that kid from The Omen is as freaky as hell.

Not a movie, but Gary Cole in the American Gothic tv series is my favourite.
Don't think he's ever actually said to be satan IIRC, but it's certainly hinted at. Great character and great series. A shame they only got to make the one season.

Not sure if any characters are actually Satan, or just evil per se.

Satan is definitely hovering between Kathleen Turner's and Anthony Perkins characters in Ken Russells fantastic, dirty dialogue driven classic Crimes Of Passion.

The Devil in Constantine was great
The devil in the new tv series "eastwick" is ok, charming super confident english type with suave wise-cracks, but not out there, low-key.
