Has anyone checked this out :D Very funny and darkish pommy comedy. A bit of a strange one for a commercial station this time of night. Would be more suited to sbs or abc1. As its on the back of the woosy Vicker of Dibley i bet their are already shit loads of complaints. Will be a weekly highlite for me :D

I decided to watch some of this while waiting for "The Amazing Race" to start, and "Benidorm" is one of the biggest wastes of space I have ever seen. I did not laugh once. The accents annoy me (How is it that people can talk English and yet I still needed subtitles to understand them).

This show IMO was just not funny. Not one bit. I am still wondering how this tripe ever got commissioned. Also, I can't see how you can extend that premise into a whole series. I might have been better off being a movie, which would be shown at a couple of independent cinemas, and then soon forgotten, only to be remembered with the same derision as "Waterworld" and "Ishtar".

People seem to think the English are automatically funny. There are quite a few funny comedies, but some of it is tripe as well. This show will be axed after two weeks, and hopefully they will move "The Amazing Race" to 8.30pm (and I can then go to bed at a decent hour). If this stays on air, and people find this funny, then I fear for the future of this world, if people have such a lack of taste.

It obviously appeals to a bit of a twisted sense of humour, Baz.

I pissed myself a couple of times. The bloke out of League of Gentlemen was great as was the "Benny Hill" bloke.

Each to their own.

Looks like sense has prevailed. I notice in the TV guide that "Benidorm" is no longer on. So it lasted two or three episodes.

There is a God!
