It's the 14th Anniversary of a real Historic Day - the lowest score kicked by a team in 55 years.
Round 11 1989, Princes Park. North V the Royboys. A deep, dark, wet and miserable winters day, (in my opinion, just perfect footie conditons).
All up, seven thousand footie nutters huddled under the cloisters and stands. What a great game of mud, mud, mud and more mud. I Loved it!
Alas we lost. And I have a vivid memory of every goal we kicked - one. By Mark Scott.
(By the way, whatever happened to Mark Scott????)

Being a North Melbourne person I can't remember this game as I was too young (10 at the time) So what was the actual scores and if anyone can remember or know where to find the goalkickerrs and who was for both sides

I was there, Bay 21 under the Hawthorn stand. It was about 8 goals to that one.

Couldn't see anything on the ground anway!

North 6.13.49 d. Fitzroy 1.8.14

Phil Krakouer kicked 2 or 3, and McCarthy had 25 kicks playing at CHB, many of which were soccers off the ground, as it tends to be in mud.

I remember listening to in on radio from home, and on the same day Richmond 5.15.45 d. Brisbane 3.8.26, with Brad Hardie kicking all 3 for the Bears.

Surely the first occasion in a long time (possibly the only time), that two blokes in the same round kicked their teams' entire goal tally!

What a bloody awful day that was. Me and my mates were not huddled under the cloisters or the stands as we were 13 years old and, therefore, clinically insane. We decided that we were bound to get on telly if we sat right behind the goals where the cheer squad usually were (even the cheer squad had found a cloister to huddle under) and yelled like idiots. By the five minute mark, we weren't going to get any wetter so we stayed put the entire game. The mud looked to be about a foot deep, so any kick along the ground would just end up with the footy sticking in the mud on its first bounce. The footy was covered by a good inch of slime, making it impossible to kick through the air. Of course, we never got on the telly because the game received limited coverage, what with only 7 goals kicked in total.

Proud to say I was stupid enough to sit out in the elements for the entire game. Cloisters are for wimps! :p

Think that may have been Wayne Carey's first game for North, btw. Whatever became of him?
