View Full Version : Matty Hayden all is forgiven
Dear Matty,
so sorry I've bagged you continuously for the last few years.
Finally you have lived up to all your publicity and become the good opening bat we need.
Just hope you get the nod for the one-dayers....anything to keep you out of the country for the Pura Cup final!
NYAH NYAH told you so http://www.bigfooty.com/ubb/wink.gif

I never bagged Hayden, because I knew that he was good enough to play at the top level, it was just a matter of time to find his feet - and how right he's proved us this series.
Yes I have been a critic of him, but it has been warrented in the past. But good on him, he stamped his spot in after a great tour of India. If only players like Ponting followed his lead.
Yes i too have been a critic of Haydens and now i will apologise for he has played his guts out this tour.
Dees01 - Dont jump all over Ponting just because his last two tests have been bad, so have Gilly's but your not jumping all over him, cos hes Mr Popular! Leave Ponting alone he has been our one of our best batsmen the last few years and will continue to be one. Hes just having a rough patch thats all.
Leave Ponting in the side. He's had one bad patch.
Slater has done stuff all in the last few months. If he's got personal problems maybe he should've withdrawn from the tour.
The selectors won't drop him because he's a NSW player and they also need a right-hand opening batsman to replace him.

"Hey ,just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand"
Drop Slater. He is batting like a clown.
Jamie Cox has been a run machine for Tasmania for 3-4 seasons now, and even though he doesn't stand out in the county comp in England, I suspect he should do OK if given a chance for the Tests there.
With Slater's recent record, it would be a travesty of justice if Cox wasn't at least part of the touring party. Unfortunately the conservative nature of the selection committee will probably see Slater persevered with.
