Now if they'd told me that would be the score ahead of time, I might have turned up to watch it! OUCH!

No misprint, PA1870. I just checked the VAFA website.

Well, I think that's the last time the VAFA will be playing the WAAFL. Shows that unfortunately the standard of the WA Amos has dropped - as demonstrated I think by the dropping down the grades of sides like Nollamara and Mount Lawley (who were the teams to beat not that long ago as I recall).

A real pity.

Wake-up call? The WAAFA is well and truly in the coffin. The VAFA should take on the WAFL.

Is the WAAFA a serious comp?
How many divisions and clubs are there ?
Are there any long term strong rivalries ?
How old is the comp....

and does anyone that plays over there have any pride in their club, community ? are they truly passionate..

or are the ammos just something to have a kick and keep fit in ?

Last Question...how does it all reflect in the standard of the WAFL.

I knew the VAFA was strong but I didn't realise it was that strong. The VAFA is clearly the second best non-AFL comp in Victoria at the moment. Probably something to do with the ammos no longer being amatuer.

What's the standard of the Sunday Football league compared to the WAAFL at the moment?
You think if they had a combined team from both leagues you would get a more competitive side?

i dont think the WAAFL is as serious as the VAFA i know there are alot of good players running around in the VAFA that come from alot of the private schools where they had very good football programs, maybe western australia dont have the depth of players that play in the amatuers.

Cheers

Don't say that if any VAFA board members are around, Slax! Yeah, we all know about the "brown paper bags under the table" thing - but the VAFA is still amateur. I think the SAAFL let it slide a bit after they admitted the SAFA clubs in 1996 and tried to start a three division pro comp - only to have clubs from both sides scream at them. The WAAFL is definitely more amateur than the other two - and that may well be showing.

To whoever asked - yes, the Sunday FL is stronger than the WAAFL.

VAFA v WAFL? Come on!! The VAFA aren't THAT strong!

The WA sunday league should combine with the WAAFL to play VAFA and SAAFL.

I see where the Sunday League GF drew 6,000 to it last year
