View Full Version : Martin offered $2.4 million over three years
It is believed Martin, 18, has a verbal offer of $800,000 a season over three seasons from 2012 from the New South Wales expansion team, despite denials yesterday from Greater Western Sydney.

If this is the case I hope we don't get him. Playing that much for a first year player is ridiculous.

I reckon it is over the top. In reality if he wants to really develop he would pay to get away from Richmond. They are woeful. Still reckon gws need some mature mid ranked players to be competitive and build from the bottom up. Paying that kind of money for Martin suggests Gazza is worth about $4 M a season.

He will be a 3rd year player by the time he's playing for GWS. Listening to Triple M they think whats been reported is more than what was offered, closer to $500,000 per year.
Having said that it's still alot of money to be throwing at a player, who while promising, is still mostly unproven at AFL level.
RICHMOND youngster Dustin Martin has given the first public indication that he may ignore potential offers from Gold Coast and Greater West Sydney to remain a Tiger.
