Alas the little man who was famous in the 80's for his role on Diff’rent Strokes, but just as famous lately for his never ending run of dramas has passed away after injuring his head in a fall.

FORMER child actor Gary Coleman has died in hospital at the age of 42.

Coleman, who rose to fame as the wise-cracking Arnold Jackson on the American sitcom Diff’rent Strokes, had been in coma after suffering a head injury in a fall.

He died at the Utah Valley Regional Medical Centre in Provo where he was taken on Wednesday from his home in Santaquin, about 55 miles south of Salt Lake City.

Manager John Alcantar said Coleman had suffered a brain haemorrhage.

Unintentional pun?

Gary Coleman took a while to accept he would always be Arnold Jackson. After that, he finally got the joke and became semi successful again. It will be interesting to see if TFS change their Gary Coleman Medal.

RIP little man.:thumbsu:

Different strokes have had so many tragedies. Kimberley died young from a drug overdose, Willis became a drug addict. The housekeeper Adelaide died from old age. Aunt Sophia died from illness. Dudleys father Ted Ramsay died at the age of 40 from a heart attack. Mrs Drummond died of cancer. And now Arnold is dead. I think that show was cursed or something.

RIP Gary Coleman.

Was my absolute favourite show growing up and have loved watching the repats on Foxtel lately.

Looking back as an adult, he was a pretty decent actor for his age, had great timing.

As a 40 something this was comedy GOLD for kids in the mid 80's.

'Watch you talkn about Willis' is immortalised in TV history.

Yet another sad tale of a child star who never got to experience the real world, develop resilience and just be normal.

RIP Arnold.

I'm aware of that. But a short while into their marriage, they still hadn't had sex...so...yeah.

He kept coming up short, and by then it was too little too late.
