I just read that Des will be out for the next few weeks and it will be touch and go for the Hawthorn game after the break.
Aparentally he has some inflamed tissue in his ankle and is going to have it operated on this week. He will miss the Geelong game and I would say that even with the break he would be highly doubtful for the Hawthorn game.

One less for us to worry about, although it won't make a difference :(

Headland has looked like he has had a problem with his ankle all season. It's better if we get this right now, then later on in the year.

Exactly right Kenny.
He has been carrying something since preseason.
Opportunity to give someone else a run.

Actually mate, This is the home game ive been most nervous about all season . Geelong are starting to look pretty slicky at the moment - Dont be too downcast on your chances on this one !!
Ireckon it will be between 3 goals either way !!

I don't think Parker will be back this week either.

Can't help being downcast, it's a prerequisite for being a GFC supporter.
I hope to get within 3 goals, but can't see us getting closer then 6.
We don't have the small defenders to stop your smaller goalkickers. Medhurst will have a field day.
Whilst with King on one leg, Simmonds should win the around the ground contests.
Doesn't auger well for my boys.

How many talls defenders will you take into the game?
Geelong are currently playing a stack of key forwards.
We've got Kingsley, Gumby, Graham, McCarthy and Charlie Gardiner.
Lately we've fielded the tallest squad of any this season, and by a long way.

Well Parker won't be playing now it seems.
We'll have Polak, Haddrill, Woods, McPharlin and Grover.
What's the bet Aaron Lord manages to sneak in about 4 or 5 goals, like he usually does against us. Average player, but it feels like he saves his best for Freo.

Adam Houlihan is the same, I can remember him kicking 5 goals against us in 2001 when he was playing for the Cats.

He might be average, but Aaron's goalkicking record is pretty imposing, especially for a guy who spent half his footballing life in the midfield.
He's only played 2 games this season, but has kicked 5 goals, so he's travelling pretty well.

Think he kicked all 5 in the first half.
Was amazing to watch.

I wouldn't play McPharlin for the whole game. I'd play him for 2 or 3 quarters to give him a taste of senior action and let him play for the Sharks in the bye. Depends how the game progresses I suppose.

Similar to my effort for the Wonders against the Roys, kicking 3 goals in the first quarter.

Ah, didn't notice that.
Was too busy following my debut effort of 1.2 from half back :D

Yeah, I doubt play for the whole. He looked spent when playing for the Sharks on the weekend. I'd give him 2 or 3 quarters as well.
We should be set for the 2nd half of the year. We have Parker, Headland, Hayden and Farmer returning and McPharlin will have gained some match fitness.
