Taking a rare leaf from the AFL's book, the Reds are going all out to promote each of their remaining games as a 'blockbuster'. It all kicks off this weekend against Williamstown in the 'Battle of the Cafe Cultures'.
We're working hard at Reds HQ to get Bracksy along. Should he turn up, I would expect plenty of abuse hurled his way when the Reds get up!
Fitzroy Reds spokesperson, Fergle Sharkey says, “The understated and unashamedly groovy, is alive and well and living in Fitzroy.
“The cafes and bars along Brunswick Street like Mario’s are great places to sit and watch the world go by. At night the whole place lights up with tapas bars, Latin American clubs, pubs, comedy bars and jazz clubs.”
Across the bay, many say that the beauty of Williamstown and the secret to its wonderful eateries can be attributed to its uncanny isolation at the point of Hobson's Bay. Only a ten-minute drive from Melbourne's CBD, Williamstown’s vibrant cafe and restaurant scene is truly a surprise.
But come Saturday, café pride will take a back seat as suburb battles suburb to see who will take away the inaugural Latte Cup.
