Website now has M.Williams not on the bench, but if you watch the video he's in there, so will leave him in. Thought we had to name a 22 given it's a Saturday game, so this is a bit strange.

Good on ya Knighta for sticking with those who have turned our fortunes around.

T. Slattery should play, I'm hoping he does.

Melksham Welsh Zaharakis Howlett

is what I want. But Howlett will probably go for Atkinson.

Ah, correct of course. Carry on.:o I had it in my head that it was on Saturday, too.

I actually had planned to go to the pub and watch it for lunch.

Great. I'm working on Sunday so can't watch it, now.

very surprised m.williams didnt get a look in with fletch out and hurley likely to spend a good portion of game time down back

BomberTime
3 Jun 2010, 16:52
Tough to the players who miss out on the bench but i think they will play slattery for the extra height down back and welsh will play and zaka obviously. Colyer i dont think will be recalled. So melksham howett or atkinson??
Also glad knights didnt mess too much with a winning formula.

If it's going to be a mud bowl like they say it is, I want as little talls as possible. Williams could be a goer, I'm still burnt from that kick he pulled in the wet against us a few years ago.

M.Williams obviously no favourate of Kinghts

Hurley will play back for sure you'd think - side should line up more like this:

Dempsey Hurley McVeigh
NLM Pears Myers
Prismal Watson Jetta
Monfries Gumby Winders
Lonergan Ryder Davey

Hille Hocking Stanton

Interchange from: Zahar Welsh Melky T.Slat Howlett Atkinson Colyer

Hope T.Slat gets a run!

Zaharakis, Atkinson, Howlett and Tyson Slattery for mine.

It's going to be raining, as it has been for the past week or so. I would therefore be including hard bodies in the 22.

Looking forward to Slattery debuting, not sure whether it will be this weekend though.

Don't think Welsh deserves to walk straight into the side. Was average before the suspension, and has not done anything for four weeks. I would let him sweat it out in the reserves for a week at least.

Really stoked if T Slattery gets his chance, but will be dissapointed for whoever gets dropped as everyone has been contributing well of late.

So imo, it looks like Welsh and Melksham are straight back in and the last spot (Zaka obviously in) is between Howlett/Atkinson

I reckon Howlett will miss with Welsh straight back in.

Howlett if it's wet, Atkinson if it's dry?

Btw, you better be going ot this match, Spikey.

Nope. Money issues.

Probably for the best, I really have to spend all weekend doing school work. Didn't do anything last week like I was supposed to and I've barley done anything during this week

Pretty decent side on paper but still got a feeling we'll probably drop this one, but would love to be proven wrong...

The boys know how to win in Sydney and fingers crossed it isn't too wet...

The SCG is the perfect oval for Welsh to play and Howlett for that matter. For that reason and it's wet:

Out: Fletcher
In: Welsh

I hope Lovett-Murray won't be played as a half back.

I think if it's a wet game, welsh won't be so much of a liability. probably a good inclusion.

Very strange for mine to drop Howlett,
1. on a small ground
2. against the swans
3. in a wet game, where his tackling and in and under stuff will be essential.

Would have left him in this week for Melksham, but hopefully I am proven wrong.

So frustrated. Rest of the team selections are good :thumbsu::thumbsu:

Woah.

It may kill me to say it, but Welsh was playing pretty decently in the game he got suspended in. We'll also need his mature (no homo) body on the small SCG ground in the rain.

Willo kicked 4 in the game he got injured in.

But no, Welsh has to come straight back in.

DT related question... was howlett dropped due to form or more due to structure/better players suited for this game?

Going by his DT scores (haven't seen much of him) i'm assuming he won't be out for too long.

thanks in advance

This is not a DT enquiry.

Can anyone give a quick blurb on how T Slattery is fairing. I see he is an emer. this week so assume his form must be ok and he is knocking on door. His 2 year deal up at end of this year so hope he gets a chance to prove himself.

Cheers

He's knocking on the door, but spots are hard to come by atm.

Yeah, but straight in? For me it's a bit of a Mark Taylor situation. If you're out of form and getting games regardless, eventually you hit a score. Taylor should have been dropped well before he hit 334*, and Welsh should have been dropped before the game in which he was suspended, for mine. I also reckon he's not great for team balance. I just don't want to mess around with our winning formula at the moment.

I think it's good to be rotating the players a bit, that said, don't know how I feel about Welsh's selection. I think that he will offer more then Howlett though, but that is dependent on his fitness.... I will fence sit this one :)

Welsh coming straight back in was inevitable, so while I'm disappointed, I'm not surprised at all.

I can only hope he's replaced as Vice Captain at year's end, so he can see our his final year without getting unwarranted games.

You think he'll go to GWS?

I think if he keeps playing the way he has for 18 months, and our younger players keep getting better, he'll do the team thing and either ask for a trade or retire, Mark Bolton style.
