View Full Version : Cox might be going to England
In the Australian team or playing County cricket ?

"FIGHTING WITH ALL OUR MIGHT"
In the team. That's what I heard, anyway. There's an opener's spot up for grabs (they're not bothering with the extra keeper) and Cox is likely to grab it. They're showing no interest in Elliot at all.

Elliott will never play for Australia again - regardless of how many runs he makes.
Its a 'personality' thing.
Elliott is too serious, too introspective and has a tendancy to be a wet blanket in the Dressing Room. Apparently he does not share his teamates fondness for consuming vast amounts of Crown Lager or a blokey joke every now and then.
He is considered bad for moral because when he is having problems, he tends to drag the rest of the team into his own personal maelstrom.
Don't know the guy personally at all - I'm just repeating what I have heard on the radio and read in the papers.
cheers
Let's not forget that Elliott's run-scoring was sporadic during the 2000-1 season. A couple of 100s in the one-dayers, and almost 100 in the Shield final, not that many other big scores. His first-class form going into the Shield final was actually pretty poor.
Cox has made runs for the last 2-3 seasons, with hardly any failures. On form it's hard to argue against Cox.
