I read in the paper today (and based on Phoney's complaining last night on here) that it will be quite wet under foot for the footy tomorrow. What impact will this have on our tactics/game plan?
It had been raining up there a fair bit prior to our game against them last year, but dried up by game time and didn't have that much impact on the result...
Personally I think quick players are quick under any conditions but we just need to be ultra smart with our decision making and not be too fancy when we have the footy... something we actually have done over the last month or so...
It will definitely be some advantage to Sydney but I'm not prepared to write the game off already purely because it might be wet. The Dockers have improved this year but hardly ever play in wet conditions but it didn't stop them beating Sydney convincingly in the wet up there a couple of weeks back...
^^Agree with Macca, unless its a Port v Richmond type mudfest then I don't see how it's going to greatly affect our mindset/tactics.
Slow players are still slow in the wet, quick players are still quick in the wet.

From what I've heard from Sydney people, it's a bit more than "expected".:p
First sunny day in about 8 days today. Might not be as wet as first thought.

Try this;
Forecast for Sunday
A few showers developing, chiefly near the coast. Moderate to fresh
south to southwest winds, strong at times near the coast in the
afternoon.
Yep, sunny and no rain so far today. If it's like this tomorrow it'll be great.

Quick players may still be quick, but it may not be possible for their ball use to be.

fingers crossed - I reckon we'll get more rain though unfortunately
It's clouded over where I am (Drummoyne, not all that far from the SCG) over the past hour.
Posted yesterday im another thread that the curtain raiser has been moved.
Lots of rain in Sydney the last few weeks.
I assume that if there is no rain during the game that conditions should be fine.

...to Canberra, which is annoying because I don't get to see much live footy. Should be a good contest though!

Nice and sunny in Sydney this morning. Weather forecast says mid-afternoon showers.
Been dry in Sydney for the last 36 hours and it appears the rain is staying off the coast for the moment -
