Do you reckon that Brisbane should have a reserves side in the VFL - the Fitzroy Lions? Although it would mean travelling every week and would be unlikely to happen, I reckon it would be nice to see some form of Fitzroy still out there. Or would you prefer the senior side to wear Fitzroy colours when playing in Melbourne?
Also, I was wondering whether you all still have a soft spot for guys like John Barker and Jarrod Molloy now that they are at different clubs. Barker returns this weekend.

I'd be interested. Of course we DID have one, Coburg-Fitzroy, but the ATO shafted it. As long as it wasn't associated with another AFL clubs' reserve side, I'd give it a look, especially if it had 'Fitzroy' in its name. Not committing to the idea, but expressing interest. Couldn't see it happening, though.

Definitely. I saw the report on Barker's return. I'd love to see him do well! Molloy, Warfe, Paxman, the list goes on. I'm always up for finding out how they're faring! Check out the threads of Roylion's, where he submits a Fitzroy team each week made up of ex-Roys still playing, drawing the odd long bow here and there.

Shame that when Coburg merged with Fitzroy in the VFL, that Coburg had massive debt with the ATO, VFL, City Council and the coburg players. Coburg are luckly to be the VFL today if it were not for Richmond then merging with them and then Richmond removed the Fitzroy name and colours away from the side.

The ATO didn't realise that Coburg owed them 80k. Coburg found it, took it to the ATO and said 'how soon do you want it'. The ATO replied 'right now or you're stuffed.'
Considering the ATO didn't know about it until Coburg told them, I thought their demand to be more than a little heartless.
