Unfortunately, Jars was right. Bickley just mentioned on Ch9 that this season will definitely be his last. He wants to exit the game playing good football. Let's hope that he can go out in style!

Unfortunately for Bicks, this season is not really going as everyone had hoped.
Let's hope he goes out on a high. It will be a shame for him (and us) if we don't make the eight or just make up the numbers.

More than I'd like hinges on the next two games.
Melbourne (H) ? The team we have on the park is questionable.
Carlton (A) ? Will we have anything better on the park?
Richmond (H) Win Should get some players back, Richmond look in trouble.
Essendon (H) Win You'd expect.
Fremantle (A) Loss We might go close but you'd pencil this in as a loss.
St Kilda (H) Win Home win but subi factor danger here.
Sydney (H) Win Could be tough though. Swans are travelling very well.
West Coast (A) Loss You'd expect.
Collingwood (A) Loss Who knows, depends which Collingwood play. Being conservative and subi factor.
Kangaroos (H) Win Probably.
Port (A) Loss If history is anything to go by.
Win the next two and we'll probably be:
13-9 4th to 6th.
Lose the next two and:
11-11 7th to 10th.
Lose the next two and drop any game I've pencilled as a win and it's bye bye season.
To be honest we need some luck to fall our way.
We need to start winning more of the 50-50 games.

Youve only got to be eighth Stiffone to have a crack at the title.
Hope we are higher; but history shows we'll be in there with a chance anywhere in the 8

Interesting analysis. We need the 1st scenario to occur to give the premiership a real shake. TJ, I can't see us winning a flag from 7th-8th.
When is Bickley's life membership match? This weekend or next?

Now that I think about it, are you just referring to the Smart/Hart match two weeks ago? (as I assumed.) Or did the likes of McGuinness also get life membership?

I don't think he did but that's only off memory. I can't recall him being admitted as an AFL life member which goes with 300 games.

It'd rate up there with the day that Matthew Liptak retired. :(
I'll be packing my tissues that day!

oh yes, I cried like an absolute baby when the good Doctor gave it away!!! :( Actually that was a really really sad day, when Jamo and Malcolm all said goodbye!
Mark Bickley is such a legend though. I will be taking a whole damn box of tissues!!! The shame of it is though, unless we win the GF his last match will probably be a loosing one - not what a great champ like him deserves!

Let's hope that from the break onwards we can field our best side each week and play the type of footy that can win a flag. Bicks deserves nothing less.

Bob Hammond was our only AFL life member before teh holy trinity of Hart Smart and Bickley
The banner yesterday was sensational. Congrats cheer squad.
Great to see the three guys walking off together at the end.
What a huge hole Mark and Nigel will leave.
Sounds to me like Nige will play on next year. And then he has a sniff of 300 if he plays the year after.
If Lynch can do it, why not Nigel.

Because Smart isn't that good anymore. Treadrea towels him every time they play on each other. Lynch plays in a position where you dont have to chase someone around all day, and he is a far more superior player.
Bickley should step aside and give a younger player a chance. He was always an average player at best anyway.

Well, if nothing else your repeated troll comments are increasing your post count.
And there I was thinking they were good for nothing.

Just honest facts, not my problem if you cant handle the truth! Not at all, he was just pointing out you only had to post your BS once not twice! We are not as thick as your mob, so we will get the jist of what your saying 1st time around. The funny thing is it took you 8 minutes to write it a 2nd time ... & it was still BS! :p

Huh?
Oh, you're done!
I was waiting for you to post it again. ;)
Whilst I hate to agree with a Port troll, I thought Green gave Smart a bath yesterday. :(

The comments about Smart and Lynch are not too far off the mark.
Lynch does not need to move around too much, and his strength combined with Brisbane's delivery have helped him last longer than expected.
Under normal circumstances Smart should have been considering retirement earlier, but you need to find a replacement before he can do so.
Unless you hurry up and find one, you lot will end up with a Mick Martyn situation.
Bickley has never quite got to that elite stage, but what an "average" player he has been and still is.
Ricciuto seems to lack that something as a captain. Bit like Wanganeen was in a way. Doesn't quite have that Voss, Hird, Primus or Tredrea captains quality about him.
