DEMONS PUT TO TEST IN THRILLER

The CSU Bulldogs survived some inaccuracy in front of goal to narrowly beat the Dubbo Demons in a thriller at George Park Bathurst last Saturday.

The Demons went down by less than a straight kick despite the students having ten more scoring shots. The win cements the Bulldogs in the top four and the Demons will be now rueing their second narrow loss on the road this season.

Matt Singh continued his good form for the Bulldogs while Hal Walton was best afield for the visitors.

Mudgee continue to show signs of improvement despite going down to the Cowra Blues at Mudgee. The visitors ran out winners by 118 points.

Bathurst traveled to Parkes to take on the competition leaders and the home side played true to form, winning by 70 points.

Orange traveled to Katoomba to take on the Katoomba-Lithgow Mountain Lions as part of the CWAFL’s series of invitational games against the new club. The home side posted an impressive 85 point victory after Mountain Lions coach Brent Kelly described the game as a ‘final’ for the new club.

The results see Cowra and Parkes continuing to head the table, Dubbo and CSU make up the top four while Orange Bathurst and Mudgee make up the table.

Next week CWAFL action heads to Dubbo with a blockbuster clash between reigning premiers Dubbo and the new contenders Cowra; Parkes and CSU will also feature another top four clash at North Parkes Oval and Orange will host the Mudgee Black swans at Orange.
