View Full Version : Jakovich - Best Game of Year

I reckon Glen Jakovich deserves a thread for the game he played against Brisbane! He turned back the clock a little and looked very sharp, focussed and suprisingly quick!
IMO this was the best game of the year Jako has played. He led strongly, provided some good opportunities in attack and showed that he could still spin off a tackler and deliver the ball into our forward zone.
I think he was a little hard on himself for missing that shot on goal at half time. :p
Jako was excellent. To me it seemed he definetly fired himself up for the game and came out all guns blazing
I reckon he thinks there might be a few more finals appearances for him if they keep playing like that ;)

All because a player by the name of J.Brown was absent from the Brisbane line-up:o
He was great today! Played like we all know he can!! He's a hero and rightly so!

He had a magnificent game, along with 21 other blokes out there.....it was just a great team performance, but it was wonderful to see the form Jako was in yesterday.
i honestly thought that leppa would chew him up. Thanks for proving me wrong Jak. :D

I thought Jacko was gone. Even though he doesnt know me he proved me wrong ;) Fantastic game. Played a bit like the Jacko of old!
Well done Eagles!
Does anyone think he could go and play down back if he plays like he played yesterday? I personally think, after watching him yesterday that he could cope with CHB again!

No, I still feel he is lost as a KPP in the back-half. To prolong his career so he is still effective when he plays, he must be used as at CHF as a marking target.
In the backline he just can't keep up with the leads that so many good forwards present on regular occasions.

As much as I wish he could - no.
An athletic CHF with a bit of pace would cut him up - remember the Hawthorn game? He's better off at CHF where his lack of pace is not so exposed. Great game, hopefully more to come.

This creates a conundrum. Jak is playing well at CHF - do we bring in one of our youngsters at the expense of Jak as a long term plan. Jaks worth was well highlighted yesterday.

Maybe him and Doogal Mcdoogal could share a spot in the side.......maybe, perhaps....

Played like the Jako we all know. Woosh has done well to revive his career which sadly looked like he was gone under the KJ era.
Well done Glen.

Had Brown played (and if my Auntie had bollocks, she'd be my uncle) he would have been at the other end of the ground.
Maybe you're right though, the Eagles were so on top that Leigh might have shifted Brown back to CHB to attempt to control the rampant Jako.:D

I was under the impression that Brown played at CHF not at CHB.

I noticed you saying that in the lead up. Decided not to say anything at the time, but Jako did the talking for me. :D
Leppa at his peak still wasnt half the player Jako was.

He seems to be growing in the position. I just wonder how much better he can get there. Still finding his feet up there but he's providing a great contest and chiming in for a couple of goals a week lately. I believe he was recruited as a promising CHF from South Freo (many moons ago).
