They're going spastic on MMM, he has taken a couple of speccies or something??
Could be the man to replace Hille? Sign him for the next 3 years.

He was awesome in the 3rd qtr, the reason the bombers got back into the game. If he can do that for four qtrs along with Hurly it'd be one awesome duo.

I have been really impressed with him, need to improve his fitness but that will come as he is only 20. He gets his hand on the ball in the hitouts and can take a mark. Good to keep pressure on hille and ryder if they stop performing.:thumbsu:

Great game from T-Bell.

His performance in the past 2 weeks ends Laycock's career, at least at Essendon.

Very impressive. He's not in the best 22 at the moment, but by the time hille starts his decline, I can see belly being a great player for us.

I think Laycock breaking his own foot ended his career... :p

Haha yeah the triple M boys were going off their nut over him.

He was very impressive. Was going at contests and actually gave us a target up forward; something that Hurley and Gumbleton were not able to do.

I thought we were to top heavy going into the match with Fletcher, Hooker, Pears, Ryder, Bellchambers, Hurley, Gumbleton all being KPP in a wet weather match. Something that, in the end was our wrongdoing being run off our feet and overusing the ball.

As I mentioned earlier, I don't think Gumbleton should be in the side. Sure you can say 'let's give him experience', but it's not going to help if he hasn't got any confidence. Let him have a go in the Twos and allow him to get some confidence like Bellchambers.

He had a similar impact when we nailed the Hawks last season at Etihad.

Not sure we could get away with playing 3 ruckman when Hille returns which is unfortunate for T-Bell as he's doing everything thats asked of him.

In all honesty..

What has Hurley done (apart from last week) that has allowed him to keep his spot?

the future... ??

If we had young KPF knocking down the door (Hello Jay Neagle ) then one of, if not both of these guys may perhaps have had stints in the magoos.

Or something ;)

They're always spastic on MMM. Can't listen to them... especially Bradshaw.

Yes. Showed "It" tonight, IMHO. Between him and Laycock (if he can get his body right, which think he will), I feel quietly confident about our ruck stocks for the future.

hurley has been much better than gumbleton this year. i personally think playing them both is fine, considering noone waiting in the wings is bashing the door down.

he had a good first half tonight, but was completely shut out in the 2nd half (not helped by some poor delivery as well)

He had a few fans behind the goals last night.

Great game for a 3rd year ruckman.

I'd have to say I was going nuts every time he touched it in the third.

Really liked what i've seen from Bellchambers. Unlike some of the other players he genuinely earned his spot in the seniors with quality play and a b.o.g. in the 2nd's. We've had a few come in with rather poor or indifferent form from Bendigo (some have turned out good though in fairness to the match committee, others not so much). I don't think we lost nearly as much from Hille being out as we would have without Bellchambers.
If there comes a time when Gumbleton/Hurley needs to be rested or whatever and they miss a week or two i would not be averse to Bellchambers coming in and playing 2nd ruckman to Hille or Ryder, and letting the other of Hille/Ryder play forward.

This might be an alternate option to Neagle coming in, if he can't display any good form. People make a lot of excuses for Neagle, but Bendigo have been pretty good this year and it still hasn't helped his form. Last year sure you could say we got belted but we've fielded much better sides and as a forward he should have benefited from that. It's a real shame that Bellchambers is about 90% likely to lose his spot after being one of our better players.

Reminded me a bit of a young Hille, showing some good signs but not yet ready to be a number 1 ruck (understandably given his age/experience).
