I posted this article on the main board. Here are the key points:

* Adelaide gains space from Ben Hart (2004) and Mark Ricciuto (2005).

* If you have three veterans, the discount is a third, rather than half the salary.

So our veterans list will be:

2004: Hart, Smart (if Smart stays on)

2005: Ricciuto, Hart OR Ricciuto, Hart, Smart

Ben and Roo are on the list one year sooner. That should give us enourmous help in keeping under the salary cap in the next couple of years. :D

The other rule change that could advantage us, is that we can recruit more rookies. From realfooty.com.au:

For the first time, the league will introduce minimum numbers for playing lists and over the life of the agreement the maximum number of rookies each club is allowed will increase from four to six. Clubs must have 37 players on their lists next year and 38 in 2005 and 2006. Total list size cannot - including rookies - exceed 44 players.

Hopefully Fantasia and co can use the two extra rookie spots to recruit some talented key position players next year.

So if we have 2 veterans next year that means we can only draft 4 rookies max??????

Regarding rookie list: Does the rule state that a player must be 18-23 years old?????? Do they count it as of January 1st of the year or some other cut off date??????

I want to know if Ryan Ablett can qualify for a rookie spot.;) (he is having a beauty with Westies in SANFL:D )
