I have been thinking about doing this for a number of weeks now, but I think I am finally going to do this.

I would like people to post a serious question to the Essendon Football Club that they would like to knw, if a question continues to pop up, I will ask that.

I will leave this thread open till maybe Sunday or Monday and then send off an email with the questions, more in hope of answer for the fans about some of the more constant questions that seem to arise on my time on BigFooty

Thanks guys

Serious Questions

Essendon seem to have taken advantage of being able to rookie draft mature aged players. Do you see players such as Marigliani, Silverlock and Crameri pushing for an elevating in the upcoming future?

What players do you see stepping up in the future to fill the void left by Andrew Lovett in that explosive midfield role?

Ehh.

My question: How much $$$ is going into new facilities, wherever that may be? Or can the club give us its vision of training facilities and programs going forward?

Now your turn.

Who exactly is going to answer these 'questions'?

I am going to send this questions off to the Essendon Football Club and see what response I get.

Whomb did something similar to this earlier in the year but to no avail..

Don't know why I am doing it though, thought if I get some more questions then they (EFC) would be under some pressure to answer the "burning questions".

These questions can be in regards to players out of position (I will ask about Dempsey being on a HBF not a wing), the new facilities that the EFC will have, or anything else you can think of.

I will pick the most popular questions and send them off to the club as mentioned earlier and hope for a response.

Hope that helps

What role, if any, does the club intend to offer James Hird in the future?
When could we expect such an offer to be made?

How are the coaching staff addressing the "Stanton can't handle a tag" issue?

As the game has grown two key positions tend to keep cropping up: a Tagger and a half back sweeper/play maker. Are any players seen to find themselves with these roles? If so Who?

What does Willo and Neagle have to do to get a senior game? Especially considering Willo's contract.

Hope that covers some q's others haven't asked. Goodluck getting a response be good if at least some responses were made.

I doubt they'd give honest answers to such things as:

How much $$$ is going into new facilities

and...

What role, if any, does the club intend to offer James Hird in the future?
When could we expect such an offer to be made?

The only answers you'd get back would be "thank you for your question... Though the Essendon Football club can't release any of that information"

A good question would be something like: What is David Hilles favourate colour?

I like this question, but perhaps worded differently:

What is preventing the EFC from attracting big name players when they place themselves on the open market?

In regards to the bolded could you also ask about Myers?

Specifically about being shuffled around the ground while his best position seems to be in the Midfield.

If thats possible. Cheers

No worries mate.

I feel no matter how the question is worded however, the only response would be deflection of the issue with a spin on the positives. Something like "we were in the running, and were shortlisted by Chris Judd when he wanted to return to Melbourne, similar to Shaun Burgoyne last year. However we feel what the clubs were asking would jeopardize the current state of our list". Something along those lines.

I don't think the club would openly state "in recent years, big name players looking for a change have not rated our list or training facilities and have hence been swayed to other clubs".

Would be interesting to see a reply none the less.

When can we expect a definitive decision to be made regarding the location of our new training base, and further to this, when do they believe the new base will be completed and available for EFC use?

IMO any question asking about a specific player would be answered with silence. A more generic question such as that asking about the mature age rookies is more likely to get an answer.

Why dont you buy out the Lawn Bowls club and help relocate them elsewhere ?
( or on the new building put the lawn bowls club on the roof with astro turf and rooms etc and the lawn bowls members could use the Bombers bars etc )

FFS.
Read one of the 17 threads on the topic.
They offered to, council knocked it back based on zoning.

OK people, so I have just sent off these question via personal email to the Essendon Football Club.

These are the questions that I asked:

* Do the Essendon Football Club see the recent Mature Aged Rookie selections making an impression and pushing for senior selection in the coming future?

* Does the Essendon Football Club see James Hird in their plans for the future, in either an administrative or coaching role?

* How are the coaching staff working with Brent Stanton to ably handle a tag after recent performances?

* Why is Courtenay Dempsey being played on a Half Back Flank with his insufficient defensive capacities?

* Why is David Myers shuffled around in the seniors after some good performances playing as an inside on baller?

* Is David Meli signing part of the normal rookie list position? or as an international rookie listing spot?

* Is David Meli to be put on the senior list (Rookie List) in the upcoming 2010 draft?

Will keep people up to date with the responses that I get.

Thanks guys

People could have answered the Meli questions.
He's an international rookie signing now, will be on the rookie list next year when he's the right age.

Why was Shannon Grant chosen as reserves coach? Who else was available for the job and why did he get it over them?

What is the pass mark for the senior group this year from a win loss perspective in the boards eyes?

What are the criteria for assessing Matthew Knights performance next year and what are the potential ramafications for not meeting those criteria come round 22.

Why are senior players wanting to leave the club. Lloyd, McPhee, Lovett all examples of guys wanting and getting out. Now Stantons name keeps coming up... Does Knights have the players?
