What does everyone else think about the split round? Personally, as much as they appreciate the break, I am sick of hearing about Geelong & St. Kilda - would love some news about the bombers! Suffering lack of football already! LOL!;)

Well as much as it hurts to miss a week of footy the truth is our players need a rest and that would happen regardless. We even get some good players back as a result (Hille, Monfries) who wouldn't be ready otherwise. Also at least they scheduled a great Friday night match for the neutrals to watch. I know i'll be tuning in to see Geelong v Saints should be a ripper. At first i didn't like the split round idea, but now i've grown used to it and it's good that we still have some footy to watch instead of just a bye week. Hell its going to be relaxing not to have to watch an Essendon game, being a bombers supporter lately leads to some very frayed nerves.

Can anyone explain why there are not 4 games (Fri, Sat Day, Sat Night, Sun) on each weekend? Surely that would make more sense.

I'm assuming its because then Foxtel would need to give up its saturday night game two weeks in a row and that Ten don't want to give up their saturday night game at all.

Perfect weekend for State of Origin.

I've got the SANFL and the World Cup so i'll still get my sporting fix for the weekend.

I would rather an entire week off rather than a single round over two weeks.

Let the Community Cup get all the press

Even the Ted Whitten game would be good this week. Don't know why it is on the following week.

seems even longer given we played the Friday night game before the split round

I hate it.

I need my fix.

I'm like a crack addict.

It's been far, far too long.

The summer been was the LONGEST wait I've felt for footy in a long, long time. The split round is a hint of a painful reminder.

The thought that we are almost into the final part of the season is very sad. Just want it to go on an on!

Does Bendigo have a bye(sexual) this week aswell? Places are on the line this week so would love to see some strong performances from certain players.

Good idea, poor execution. 4 and 4 or 8 and 0

I hope they don't have any Split round next year as there'll have to be byes anyway.

id say it will be like the 93 fixture with a split round in the middle....each team willl probably get 3weeks off during the season...with collingwood getting to choose where they want their bye weeks first followed by everyone else...

AFL has announced that each team will have two byes.

It will be our luck that Essendon has a bye in Round 1.
