Is this allowed or does it need to be somewhere else? Hope it is because i thought it would be a good idea to have a thread on this board for those of us that like the punt.

Plenty of action to be had atm with the likes of Winbledon, fifa wc, AFL etc.

Basically, just use this thread to post your bets, ask advice/tips, let people know about promotions etc. :thumbsu:

Haven't had a punt in ages, last time was about two months ago; backing Ben Johnson for 20 bucks to kick the first goal. Was paying 750 bucks, he had shot from outside 50 on the boundary line, looked good, I rose to my feet, beer spilling out of my hand... touched on the line, ****.

Heard a little while ago (This morning) that pies are paying $3.50 for a win over 60 points tonight. Anyone gonna take a dip at that?

Don't even think about it, mate. Clubs have a history of putting on a good show in a coaches last game.

I think Geelong might get over the line against the Hawks but the Hawks are overs so i have put 1 unit ($100) on them for the win.

Have taken a semi hedge by putting geelong 1-39 in a multi with a couple of shoe ins. This will cover my 1 unit loss if Hawks lose.

Don't like any margin bets tonight. On the one hand Collingwood should poleaxe them, on the other, there's the last game effect.

I'll just multi Collingwood on the nose with Adelaide and Freo.

I like North @ 2.75 and Holland @ 3.60 within 90 minutes.

Collingwood @ 1.16 are way unders given the current situation with choc retiring. Why would you go anywhere near it?

Holland @ 3.65 are overs and offers good value.

I still haven't finishing doing my research for the final but i'm exploring the possibility of betting on Sneijder most goals. Currently equal with Villa (5) and @ 3.65 would still fetch a decent profit under the dead heat rule. Basically Villa doesn't score and you make a profit. You also have the possibility of Sneijder scoring himself which would increase the profits dramatically. Maybe worth a unit but will decide tomorow.

Don't forget Klose and Forlan are playing in the third place play off.

Tbh, I can't see any chance of Collingwood losing at all. The only question is whether Port puts in a good show and gets close or gets blown away.

Yeah ok mate. So if they were 1.20 in a 3 outcome bet against one of the most in form teams of the last year you would consider this overs? Bet much?

Don't forget Klose and Forlan are playing in the third place play off.

1. They would need to score 2 goals. Highly unlikely.

2. It still doesn't mean they are not unders.

If Klose/Forlan scores and neither Villa nor Sneijder scores, do you get 1/3 of the dividend?

Got an email from betfair:

Then place three separate back bets of at least $10 on each of the following exchange markets for the World Cup final:

Sounds like a resonable bet to me

I`m becoming very partial to the half time bet , so let`s have a look at Essendon to lead from 1-12 & 13-24 at H.T, 50 on each.

I waited a week too long to bet on Hodge for the Brownlow. :(

Will be favourite after today's performance.

Surely Taking Jobe for bombers most votes tonight would be easy money?

$1.40 TAB

i woulda thought he'd be 1.10..

You'd think so, however you look at our wins this year (which will draw the majority of our 3 vote games), and:

Round 3 v Carlton: 4th Disposals (13th kicks)

Round 6 v Hawthorn: equal 4th highest disposal getter (7th in kicks), Hurley 4 goals

Round 8 v St Kilda: Highest disposal getter (6th in kicks), Hille 4 goals

Round 9 v Richmond: Highest disposal getter (7th kicks), Hille 3 goals 26 disp

Round 10 v Dogs: 3rd disposals (7th kicks)

Round 17 v North: 1st disposals(38,12k), Swallow 15 tackles 27disp, Hardingham 4 goals Reimers 23 disp 3 goals

Round 18 v Stk: 4th disposals (7th kicks), Gus 4 goals

So he's no certainty for the votes in many of those games, with only really the round 17 game he is highly likely to get 3. In a season that we won't be polling many votes, it might take a fair few 1s and 2s to beat somebody like David Hille, for example, if Hille can manage 3 best ons in wins.

Having said that, he will probably get it, but the 1.40 is prob about right.

...and for a two bob dark horse: any unlisted player on bombersbet is $31. Not sure if its the same at the TAB, but the groupings Jobe (1.4), Fletch (5.5), Stanton (11), Hille (14), Winders (15).

C'mon Paddy!!!

Only 18, so first time Brownlow betting. Went with a few small bets, $5 each on Goddard top 5, Selwood top 5, and then $5 each on Green and Sylvia for most Melbourne votes.
