Roys Drop Bundle After Having Game Won ...
(from http://www.footypedia.com/roys)
While showing great signs of things to come in the first half of today's match at Dark Park, the Roys were unable to maintain the pace in the latter part of the game and were overrun by a committed DE outfit.
After an early goal to the Shadows, the Roys took command and established a lead that was not to be overtaken until some time into the final stanza. It seems that the Gorillas simply ran out of puff, an affliction that also showed itself in Round 1. The odd move of Yippyio to the backline in the final quarter, after he had posted five goals and was leading scorer on the ground, seemed to unsettle the team, and replacement full forward Gregtri was unable to pick up where Yippyio left off.
Many players were quite disappointing, not the least of which was club president Mobbenfuhrer. Add Shiva25, Blackers, MSB_Roys and Phil Doyle to the list of underperformers, and the ranks became very thin when the pressure was applied.
In the more accustomed role of centre-half-forward, skipper Roylion led from the front all day, with more than handy support from flanker FitzroyRamone. Slax was serviceable when relieving Fat Pizza in the ruck, the latter player also continuing to impress. The engine room was as potent as ever, with Rabs and Shaz getting more than their fair share of the ball.
Mr Ripper and Adey were serviceable on the backline, while Wayde Petersen impressed, and may be an on-ground starter next week.
The Roys host the strong Razors team at Brunswick Street Oval next weekend, and will need to be on their toes if they wish to post their first home ground victory of their short existence.
