We need some staff, 'cause "but I can't do it alone."
Well, I'll probably be able to do it alone, but a couple of backups to kick in on the off chance that a tram gets hit by me (which will be pretty unusual up here in Brisbane), would be most welcome.
You Can Help By Being ready Ready To Pick A Side, If Need Be :
When it comes to picking a side, anyone can do this. Any player on the squad. Even one that's running the oranges.
What happens is the league requires a team sheet to be submitted on the match thread. Its the captain's job to do it. That's me. Me. (Me). But if I happened to forget, somehow, we could lose premiership points as a penalty. Them's the rules.
What happens in a perfect world is that I post a team, when they ask for one.
Ina less perfect world, where its possible some tram might hit me, anyone else from the team can pipe up. So if you see on a match thread that I seem to be dragging my heels, post a team. Just go copy the team from the previous round and post it.
I can over-ride your post, so long as its before the cutoff date. The invitation for you guys to post a side is merely a failsafe. If I don't turn up, then we won't lose premiership points, because you posted a side.
This is very handy. Teams do get docked premiership points every now and then, for this very thing. You can save our arses by being on the ball.
So we have me as captain, and you guys available to help out. I'm the only one that is officially required to work. We still would like to have other office-bearers, at least in name.
Other Positions (No Real Action Required) :
Let's get ourselves a Vice Captain, a DVC, and a if you can think of any other possies, lets get them too.
I will take nominations for the following positions (you can nominate yourself). Here are my nominations (choosing from the active vets of the club), which can of course be refused by the nominees if need be :
Vice Captain - Fred
Deputy Vice Captain - ItsMyShow
President - FattyLumpkin
There are some great young bucks coming up through the ranks, eg Reardo, Carn the Roys, but they are a little tender on the vine at this point. I skipped vets such as Fat Pizza, Mr Ripper, Roylion, don vito, etc, as while they have the experience, their appearances are a little "sporadic".
