Any other fans of Terry Pratchett and the discworld series?

My favorites would be all but Mort and The Truth which i am now reading stand out.Any with Rincewind and the luggage also were great. I read a lot but Pratchett is one of the very few authors that have me laughing aloud!

only in Ankh-mork would you find a city watch taht employs werewolves, trolls, zombies, dwarves and manages to get along sort of.

Only in Ankh-mork would you find a vampire fascinated with flash photography- poor old Otto (buggritt!) with sometimes disturbing results!

Only in Ankh-mork is there a guild for thieves/clowns/beggars/dogs.

Any other favorites?

Death has some classic moments!!!

AWFUL DARK IN HERE, ISN'T IT?

YOUR LIFE DOES PASS BEFORE YOUR EYES BEFORE YOU DIE.
THE PROCESS IS CALLED 'LIVING'.

'I'm going to die?'
POSSIBLY.
'Possibly? You turn up when people are possibly going to die?'
OH, YES. IT'S QUITE THE NEW THING. IT'S BECAUSE OF THE UNCERTAINTY PRINCIPLE.
'What's that?'
I'M NOT SURE.

:p :p :p

Havent read any in quite a while, think there are a couple lying around that I should probably get into one day.

Did you read the 'Good Omens' book he did with Neil Gaiman? Totally brilliant read that one, a real favourite.

Love'em

More a fan of the Watch ones rather than the witches or Rincewind ones

Got em all. It's an acquired taste, but TP's writing is fantastic - slightly absurd and never takes itself too seriously. It's how I myself would write, probably why I love the books so much :)

Of the different "series", I reckon I probably like anything involving Death - He always cracks me up. The Watch and the witches are also favourites.. IMHO the Rincewind books are a bit weaker, the others are a bit more "ensemble".

That is called a pune, or a play on words.
