What do you reckon of Lynch for the Coleman this year? He's certainly been on fire over the last few weeks, and unlike previous years, he is certainly our key target up forward every week.

Bradshaw only gets a run at FF to give Lynch a rest, and Brown plays more up the ground. The only other major scoring options we have are amongst the small men.

Lynch is now on 38 goals, and only behind Matera (39 goals, to play today), and Lloyd and Neitz (43 goals, already played this week). B.Hall is one behind Lynch on 37.

Although Lynch may miss a couple of games here and there, the fact that he is pretty much our only key position target up forward (in terms of kicking bags of goals), will surely mean that he is going to be pulling in a few more bags over the remainder of the year.

With that said, the other players in close contention are also in a similar position at their respective clubs.

However, I reckon a couple more bags of 6-8 goals every now and then would surely put Lynch in with a big chance.

Before last night you could get better than 20 to 1 on him winning.

I'd just wait a week - if he doesnt make the trip to perth his odds may just edge out a little making him even better value. I reckon if you can get more than 10-1 he's a steal. Reckon its between the three Lloyd, Neitz and Lynch. Lloyd doesnt seem to kick as many as he's used to, maybe he plays up the ground a bit more? Neitz may well struggle in the latter half of the season if melbourne fall away when they cant make the eight. Plus I think we have an easier second half of the season, so all in all maybe the real odds should be about 4 -1 on lynch. Anyone know what he is currently?

Just checked odds this morning - assume they have been updated!

Lloyd 1.65 - way too short

Neitz 6 - fair enough
Hall - 8
matera - 9
fevola - 10
lynch - 13, still great value

This is how things stand ATM

1. Matthew Lloyd 43
2. David Neitz 43
3. Phillip Matera 39
4. Alastair Lynch 38
5. Barry Hall 37
6. Nathan G. 35
7. Brendan Fevola 34
8. Chris Tarrant 32
9. Kent Kingsley 30
10. Shaun Burgoyne 29

He's a chance - but because he would most likely miss this week luck would need to fall his way (wont be holding my breath on that)

i'd Luv to see him win it - i would do cartwheels if he did :D

I think it is very reliant on him playing this week. Lynch can not afford to give the likes of Neitz & Lloyd a free game when he is already 5 behind them.

Well.. just after watching 'on the couch' mike popped the question about leigh playing lynch this weekend - the decision is more up to him but he doubts he'll fly to WA this weekend.

We'll know tonight if he plays or not. Looking at the draw I think it would be best if he doesnt travel. We have Essendon in Melbourne after Hawthorn next week and we need him in for that match and against Hawthorn.
