Helps when you don't have a big dominant KPF in the team.

Not really anything special being able to kick a goal every 2nd game. The 20+ list looks like it'll have 5+ by the end of the season. A slightly better indicator
A measure of a good return is 20+. Really 30 if you are a forward. 10 is setting the bar a bit low.

I'm pretty sure I read that we average the 6th most goal kickers a game, in the AFL.
About 8.5 a game.
Probably a better way to look at it.

Yep, and we are in pretty good company if I remember correctly with the Bulldogs, Collingwood and Geelong all having the highest spread of goal kickers per game.

5 with 30 plus and 8 with 20 plus is bloody impressive, when your top two kick 170 between them.

The bold figure is the number of goals kicked.
Talk about firepower back then also.

Lloyd mentioned on SEN today that he kicked 109.60 - I never realised he missed so many shots (for someone of his calibre) - I can't seem to recall him having a poor season in front of the sticks in 2000.

What people don't realise is the amount of time Lloyd spent away from goal in 2000.
He spent a lot of time playing high and played a lot as a roaming forward and not just out of the goal square.
Lloyd, in 2000 especially, was one of the most unselfish fullforwards I've ever seen. He often pushed up the ground to isolate a matchup if Bewick had someone for speed, Hird for class, Alessio for height etc.
What it meant was that he had a lot of long range shots. Lloyd had more kicks than any other player on our list in 2000, which says something about the ground he covered.

I'm pretty sure he never, ever actually left the goal square once until big bad Knights asked him to in 2009....
used to love the big long leads & Scotty busting a nut to get into the space the other side. That was how key forwards are meant to play.

I heard Lloyd speak in an interview earlier this year, he stated that following the 2000 season someone came up to him (the name escapes me but it was a past goal kicking great) and told him he wasn't having enough shots at goal.
2001 he started having twice as many shots at goal during the week, which shows as he kicked 105.36 that year.
It made me think at the time that the team needed to spend more time in front of goals, as we have been pretty wasteful at times this year.
