Sorry to read (on general chat) you had some sort of family tragedy. I hope you are ok and things work out as best as possible in the circumstances.

The same day my wife was attending a family funeral in Sydney, my stepmum passed away in Brisbane. Tough times indeed but part and parcel of life unfortunately.
Sort of brought me back to an old post about whether people would attend a family funeral on grand final day if their team was playing. I remember being non-committal at the time but reality soon finds your allegiance.

Sounds pretty awful. I know what you mean by family v footy taking you by surprise. My Dad almost died late last year and the flag sort of seemed pretty meaningless in comparison - thankfully he's pulled through well so I can get back to the relatively trival task of exercising bragging rights!

We just had the BIG C confirmed in another family member on my wife's side. Dropping like flies to that!

Ohhhhhhhh I feel so low now. Thought this was new and it was 2 in the morning when I posted on here. How did it resurface again after 8 years. Sorry ODN.

Sorry is a great word, but sometimes too overused.
I started wondering if Dutchman got knocked on the head or something because he supports Essendon and I thought he was talking about the 2008 Grand Final. :o

The incident occurred 8 years ago, so I'm guessing ODN is well and truly over it.

It wasn't guns. It was our resident shape shifting troll. Guns just likes replying to him then when we delete the fool's posts, it looks like Guns bumped the thread.
