I had planned to go see 'We Will Rock You' , but after seeing that preview on The Footy Show, I don't think I'll waste my time, was it just me or was that singing and dancing shocking??
Anyone around here planning to go?
Yep i was planning on going now, but i wont be now, after seeing them on the footy show, it was put me off.

I'm glad it wasnt just me :)
Either you guys aren't into QUEEN as much as you think you are
or haven't been to these type of musicals before. Remember it's London's #1 rating musical this year. Brian May has even endorsed it.
All these shows are similiar...nobody is expecting the singer to have a Freddie Mercury voice or even look like him. It's a musical dedicated to Queen and the setting of the footy show isn't exactly what you're going to get. You need to establish whether can appreciate musicals or just expecting a ROCK concert which this certainly ain't.
I saw it in London last year and i really enjoy it. I will admit that I am a Queen nut though and I have all their albums, but it is a lot better than the Footy show made it out to be.

I'm not really into Queen at all to be quite honest, but I've been hearing how good this production is supposed to be and how well it's been doing overseas etc. That's why I originally wanted to see it.. I love musicals, and I think that a musical dedicated to Queen's music could be quite good, but I at least expect the people they have cast to be able to sing and dance, seeing as that is the basis of a musical is it not?
Anyway, that's just me, I'm sure most people who go to see it, will enjoy the show.

As you ain't really into QUEEN, I'm not sure if it's a good or bad thing...
Good...you won't be disgruntled by the changing acts who will
mask the way Freddie made the song so lively.
Bad...you won't know / appreciate every track that this musical have many to choose from
Not everyone is going to be overwelmed by this upcoming musical but you just sense that not expecting anything special is the best way to go...then the expectations won't make you feel 'ripped off & disappointed' ....heck, I'm looking fwd to it without any real 'Freddie' magic :(
There is one thing that is turning me off it though, The Regent Theatre. Every stage show that has gone in there for an open season (unknown period of time) has flopped.

No the stuff on the FS didn't put me off.
I reckon it's like those who were into ABBA and went to Mamma Mia. You would do it because the music meant something to you regardless of how it's presented.
But evenso. I would still go and see it just because it is something of my past that I enjoyed. Why miss it just because a few cranks say it's shyte? Isn't it trendy just to say everything is shyte because it's not new? What do most little new turds know?
The Regent Theatre. wouldn't have a clue. I just think it is the show that makes or breaks it and the vibe that people bring.
You can't bring the Queen down now!! :D

Bands like Queen are forever.....most of the stuff out now is about making a quick dollar (& rippin' you kids off) and you most likely won't hear them in 20 years time.
And before any of you young punks say a bad word about QUEEN....
I have no time for losers because 'We ARE THE CHAMPIONS'

Well I am not going, and it's not because of the act that was on the Footy Show, but the fact it won't be in Tasmania. Though, if the singing is like that, then I am glad I am not attending. I wasn't much of a Queen fan, though I liked many songs.
