I was at the game last night with my mate and an old lady sitting near me said to us: "it's nice to see some asians. we don't see enough of you people at the game". i know she didn't mean any harm, but i find it a bit racist...thoughts?

Yeah, agree, racist, but I don't think she intended any harm. Having said that, while she may have meant no harm it can still cause problems.

I think you would technically call that racist but at the same time, different generation and wasn't trying to be offensive.

I think everyone is racist on some level in that we tend to generalise about cultures different than our own. It's when you discriminate based on race that it becomes a bad thing.

It's more people raising the topic of racism on things like these than the actual comment that annoys me.
