Apart from the Rising Star award, Michael seems to have been in the media a bit recently. Perhaps the club trying to give him some responsbility and be the face of the young Bombers? Seems fairly nervous, but starting to come out of himself. What do others think?

Heard him this morning on SEN. Seemed a little nervous but still quite an intelligent & confident kid.

He was asked yesterday if he wanted to say things to his team mates yesterday to be more accountable etc. He answered yeah he would like to. When they asked would he do it/did you do it? He answered 'not quite yet'. Effectively, he didn't feel comfortable enough but this is a step he needs to take for next season. He is our future captain and the sooner we groom him for that role the better.

He just needs to take the next step and I think the coaches should take him aside and encourage him to take more of a leadership role and not be scared to be vocal with his team mates. (In a constructive way off course ;))

I think back to other players and how nervous and lacking in confidence they were, I am really looking forward to seeing him blossom and take on the leadership role!

I think since 'the incident' he has been a bit reluctant to show leadership and might feel obliged to the team, so has gone about quietly building respect back.

Hopefully next year with everything off his shoulders and a good preseason we can see him grow into the young leader we expect him to be.
