Although the result may not have shown it, I think today was our worst game for the year..our skills were horrible, our intensity was non-existent. No pressure what-so-ever

In: Colyer (pace) , Ryder (pace, agility, versatile), Lonergan (replace Watson), Atkinson (pace)
Out: Quinn (slow, shit, not good enough, project didn't work) , Watson (inj) Stanton (slow) , Myers (slow)

Quinn: Pretty plain and simple

Watson: Couldn't run in the 2nd half, no point in aggravating his calf injury and now ankle. Put him on ice.

Stanton: Used to be a fan of Stanton, watching him pull out of the contest in front of Brown in the 3rd quarter was the most gutless thing I have seen all year. His skills are just ridiculous and a statement needs to be made to him. Really couldn't care less if he went to the Gold Coast, would be a win for us!

Myers: Plain and simple, not AFL material, not good enough. Waste of a number 6 pick!

Fletcher reckons he'll play and hopefully Winderlich does too, along with Ryder and Lonergan

The outs would be Quinn and Myers, with Watson rested and Hocking rested.

Would like to see

Out : Quinn (omit), Watson (rest), Reimers (injury from having his ass kicked)

In: Ryder, Lonergan, Coyler

Let the kids play (apart from Quinn as he is deplorable).

No point risking injury with sore players and give the kids another game. Wouldnt be opposed to resting Stanton but not for anything bad. Just may need a rest.

Feel a bit sorry for Bendigo with most of their team in the Seniors.

Reimers out for Atkinson. FFS can we give blokes like Quinn more than 5 seconds before dropping them. It was only last week everyone was demanding to know why Myers wasn't getting a game, now some idiot wants to drop him? Jesus christ

Keep Myers in.

It all depends on who comes up from injury, if Paddy, Fletch, Winderlich come up they all come in.

23 Aug 2010, 09:22
Why would they bother getting senior blokes back for one match?
Fletch, Winders would already be off on holiday IMHO.

23 Aug 2010, 09:23
Out: Quinn (self explanatory), Reimers (nice goal but way to selfish & undisciplined and 7 possies not enough)

In: Lonergan, Ryder

Not sure if Watson is going to come up - maybe one more change. Put Stanton on the ball - if he doesnt fire then trade him - he has been very poor this year IMO.

Id have line up;-

Hocking Hurley H.Slat
Dempsey Hooker Crameri
Prismall McVeigh Jetta
Monfries Carlisle Lonergan
Hille Neagle Marigliani

Ryder Stanton Melksham

Howlett Hardingham Myers Watson

Any of the guys in bold at Bendigo could get a run though, but they are playing finals so will want some guys with senior AFL experience in the team.

T.Slat Shinners Papalia
Atkinson Bristow Collins
Houli Duscher Scanlon
Colyer Still Thompson
Quinn James Cloke

Belly Skipworth Liddle

Masters* Homes Ladson Delahunty
Bock Page Flaherty Stroobants
Gray

Out: Quinn, Crameri (not going to be anthing i believe, back to bendigo to help them out in their final), Watson (inj), Reimers?
In: Ryder, Colyer, Lonergan, Houli??

No point risking fletch and winders for 1 game. With watson out, would like to see how myers, marigliani, lonergan and howlett handle the workload left by jobe.

The result does not matter in the slightest. I'd be mighty pissed if we saw Fletcher and Winders back in the side. Play a young side and tell them to play with passion and flair.

Outs:

Quinn - can tell he's Irish, similarities with a potato are quite amazing
Watson - lion hearted debut season as skipper, could not have done much more. Can have a week off and hold his head high
Reimers - trade him. A talent he might be, but his ego won't let him become a quality player unless he gets the kick in the ass he needs. Sadly I think a trade is about the only kick in the ass that will get through to him.

Ins:

Colyer - love this kid, just let him play.
Lonergan - Play him as an inside mid replacement for Watson
Ryder - Tell him to go out and take mark of the year, it seems like he isn't enjoying his footy atm.

Not without a sniff, now!
Probably a worse doggies line-up than the one which got done by 16 goals to the Cats the other week.
Get Crameri, Marigliani, Quinn off & get seniors in there, we may pip them again.

It doesn't matter too much, let the rookies get some experiences.
As long as Ryder comes back in so we don't have to play Hooker in the ruck.

Out: Quinn (slow, shit, not good enough, project didn't work)

When has Quinn been slow?

Put all the guys that are eligible to play with Bendigo back as they are playing finals.
That is if we have enough senior blokes to bring back in

23 Aug 2010, 19:22
Do we give games to youngsters like T.Slatts or go for the win and bring in Fletcher and Winders? Dogs will be without Cooney, Johnson and possibly Morris. A higher draft pick is important, but a win could give bring some confidence into a team that would be lacking confidence.

Spot on. Did any of those calling for him to be dropped go to the game? Watch it on tele? He wasn't specactular but he was one of the few who didn't make too many skill errors. We need his elite kicking skills. I'm torn this week between going for the win and giving kids experience.

If Quinn plays another game I seriously don't know what I will do. Jay Nash is 100 times the player Quinn is. I can't believe this kid is getting games for the mighty Essendon seniors.

It's really painfull to watch. I personally can be better than him. Surely Matty Knights is taking the p#ss when he lined him up at CHF. LMAO .

Play the blood kids. Don't drop them for seniors. Bring in T. Slattery and Still as well.

Facepalm.

Not every player in the afl can be alwyn davey quick. There is a need for strong bodies around contests and surley your joking about his skills...the guy can kick it 50 metres plus of one step. Give him longer than 1 game to prove this further to supporters.. he was not the worst by far on sunday but some people on here cant see he was one of the too few that had a crack, he should be rewarded for that. Plus Watson will be out, give him a go in the middle against the team he played his best game against mid year.

quickness is the one thing that Quinn has going for him.
He is fast, don't take that from him.

I never said that our whole team had to be as quick as Froggy but Myers really lacks pace and is too much of a liability and, No, I am not kidding about his skills, and bloody hell anyone could kick 50 off 1 step if they really wanted to. Even I could, he has had enough chances to prove himself and has yet to have a stand-out game in his career, send him back to WA

I can't remember the game off the top of my head (it was a win so that narrows it down :p ) where Myers kicks a long flat kick right onto Hurley's chest at CHF. It was brillant. So nobody can say with any veracity that Myers is not a very good kick. He's not quick and he looks cumbersome, but he is a very good kick and he should be persisted with. Play him in the middle Sat night and leave him there. And I'm with reincarnated, Quinn is an embarassment to the Essendon brand. Play him for Bedingo if you want to persist with him, but no games in the seniors until he improves 100%.

A week off to work on his skills maybe?
Clearly needs every minute of that kind of training that we can get into him of we're not going to trade him.

If you're serious about putting a side out there to win ahead of the young players, then i disagree.

But if you are serious, please start by dropping Hank....i couldn't do anything other than piss myself laughing at some of those fundamentle skill errors as the ball sailed through Brissy's goals. So bad it was funny (well, sort of), and personally i would drop a player for serving up that level of skill at local level.

No positives in playing this man now whatsoever.

I can't understand why people are calling for Jobe to be rested with him having the next 8 weeks off after Sunday? Even if he only playing on one leg the captain will add more around stoppages than anyone else will in the side.
I doubt Matthew Knights will be putting out anything apart from the strongest side he can out on the park on the weekend with another thumping possibly all but ending his time at Essendon

Essendon's hopes of reinstilling some pride in the team in their final game of the season could be significantly bolstered by the return of veteran defender Dustin Fletcher who looks set to return from a hamstring injury.
