If there is one ex-player who has the character required to lift us out of the mire it is Brett Kirk. Throw some serious cash at him to become an assistant next year and groom him for the key post. Has he made any retirement plans? I hope not. Can anyone think of a better person to bring in? Hirdy excepted of course...

While I would very much like him at the club, what possible hard evidence do you have to suggest he has the tactical ability etc to be groomed for the key post?

Young family with a few of them just in their early years of school.

NSW boy to boot.

Very, very unlikely.

Wouldn't be surprised to see this thread locked tbh. Almost no chance.

Yawn!

Almost as exciting as table tennis huh?

Why wouldn't you try to entice him here... would be due diligence to at least make overtures. He may or may not have the nouse but weigh up the influence of his passion and intensity as opposed to 'Mr Tactical' with the character of a wet sandwhich. People talk of getting Goodwin and other types over so why not snare a guy who I believe has close to the most respect in the comp?

Depends if he has the ambition to coach or not. If he does it might be worth his while moving to another club. Can't see him defecting to GWS. If he doesn't want to coach then it's a moot point. But if he does...

Kirk is an on field leader.
Take him off the field and he is just a wierdo.

Not a great communicator, leads by example. Would not be suited to
coaching!

What does table tennis have to do with a yawn at an uneducated illinformed typical
post that is almost identical to all the other stupid posts on here about get this coach, sack knights, get Goodwin, get Macleod, get angus monfries a tampon, give brad Johnson a bone, prescott and campo suck.

Another crap thread, another driven poster trying to
get it off the ground.

Know him well do you mate. Seemed to communicate well enough to re-ignite the Bloods spirit. That 'weirdo' happens to have across the board respect... can you claim that. Not on this board anyway (throwing unenlightening yawn comments at a poster putting an opinion forward probably takes care of that).. I'll give you a tip mate, if you label respected people 'weirdos' you're just going to be laughed at. I'll take his buddhism and vegetarian diet over most other footballers values any day.

You, my friend don't sound like somebody I would bother having a beer with, let's put it that way. Mate, if I had history in regards to these posts then fair enough. I actually seriously think that he is the type of character who we could benefit from. I have every right to put that forward without condescending vomit spewed onto a computer.
See ya guys, I'm obviously not welcome on this board. Might go check out a board with a bit more respect.

Mate, I'm tipping I know a bit more than you. I know that as a
footballer Brett Kirk is loved and admired by the example he sets on the field. But the over hyped media about everyone loving him is misguided. He has been a co captain as he leads by example not by words. Unfortunatley for your dumb argument, if you cannot communicate, your going to be a poor coach. Sure what he says people will listen, but have you heard him talk. He is a wierdo. He talks in riddles. He might be a top bloke within the swans, but if he was no good as a footballer he would be an outcast.

This is why I yawn. Brett Kirk is a respected footballer, not a communicator
therefore not a great coach.

The bloods spirit can be attested to Paul roos, jude Bolton, Barry hall, Leo Barry, etc as well. Why don't we get all them involved too.

Kirk is on a completley different level to sheedy.

Seriously I have had the pleasure of being in both company. Sheedy can
hold a conversation. Kirk turns normal conversation to something that leaves you confused on how on earth your conversation got
to tha point.

It's a trait that is common in genius's however, ones intelligence means nothing if you can't be transparent.
