I was listening to the end of that interview (not that intently) and I think it was Healy/Hookes who brought up the issue of a draft where good players who can't make it into their own side should be allowed to play for another weaker country that needs them.
I remember Stuart MacGill suggests something along those lines when he was unable to get into the Test side a couple of years back. Warne's response was a rather mild interest in the idea, nothing more.
What was more interesting was Warne's response to questions about the Bangladesh Test match, reading between the lines seemed to think it was a waste of time. There are mixed messages coming from the Aust team on the leadup to this Test - some are saying they'll be as ruthless as usual, some are saying that they're not taking this Test lightly, which is counterbalanced by S. Waugh's statement that the side will be underprepared for this Test.
I think the Australian side as a whole don't want to play this Test and see this as an unnecessary nuisance on what they believe should be their off-season. It will be interesting to see what mood they're in when the match does begin on Friday.

i sincerely hope i never live to see the day a draft is used for international cricket (or sport for that matter)

That and the pursuit of stats will be the only points of interest in this match.

Yeah, god forbid the days we have to line up for our ex east european aussie olympic and tennis stars rather than recruit them direct.

Bangladesh need to start somewhere - how about official tests between 2nd tier countries and state or county teams

I reckon they should have a 2nd tier Test comp running throughout the year and the winner of that comp gets to play in the big leagues the following year.
That way, you make sure there is only one emerging nation coming through and playing these 'meaningless' Tests while the others get far more match practice than they probably are now.

Sort of like english county cricket with their 2 divisions for one day cricket and 4 day cricket, with the top sides of division 2 promoted and the bottom sides of division 1 relegated according to ladder positions etc ?...
Would mean no pointless series, but would probably see Australia fronting up against the likes of pakistan, india and south africa repetatively.
