Okay, Anna Kournikova wasn't a great tennis player, but she does adorn that cover rather well.

Actually a pretty good doubles player. Won 2 Aussie Opens with Hingis.
She looked pregnant in the last photos I saw
As for her tennis, world no.8 in singles in what was probably the golden era of women's tennis.
She never won a tournament, but you need to look at the quality of tournaments she played.

Agree with this. People criticise her for being a shit tennis player, but this is an over-the-top reaction in my opinion, based solely on the attention her looks gathered (attributed in part to typical jealous females). She had a good ranking in what was a quality era of women's tennis. Also, for those that understand the sport, doubles is a significantly different ball game to singles. Two gun singles players obviously wouldn't necessarily make a gun doubles combo. Kournikova was a top doubles player, as evidenced by winning a few slams with Hingis.

Her career record with Hingis was 67-4
If she'd had a halfway decent serve she would have been a miles better player - it was truly the worst I have seen from a top professional.
Her ranking was a testament to the quality of her fundamentals, it's why she was so good at doubles.
