View Full Version : Toast Jobe Watson
Great result tonight I thought, and well deserved. Hasn't been rated enough this year. :thumbsu:
Pulls all the votes when we are up.
He will get one soon.:thumbsu:

How many votes did he grab
What were our other results?
Yep. Doesn't get the recognition that he deserves.
Fantastic season, Jobe :thumbsu:
16 votes I believe was his final tally. Like I said in the other thread, had money on him from before the start of the season to finish top 5. He was 2 or 3 votes out by the end. Had we won 10 games this year I reckon he would've pulled more of those in.
Gives hope for future counts... not that the Brownlow will be gaining any more recognition after tonight's effort.

Irrelevant question (nobody would answer me on main board) came in and thought I heard that old legend say something about 'poofs' - something along the lines of 'he might like poofs'.
did i hear correctly??

Certainly one of the best, if not THE fairest!
Great to see his name sitting there next to abletts. He might have come close to twenty if we played some half decent footy after round 13.
down to my last $4 today at the TAB, jobe was 17/1 for most votes for a captain in his group and the champ pulled through for me. legend
Not sure if I am more surprised that Watson Polled 16 votes or Judd 30 votes.
On reflection cant believe that Judd polled 30 votes.

by far the best player in an ordinary side, much like jobe, judd had few to take votes off him, but yeh 30 was a bit over the top, assume the umps fall under the same drug testing regime as the players...
anyways congrats jobe, got to think he could be a medal chance if & when the side manages 14-16 wins.
oh & can someone remove the 'prostitute' post, getting a bit sick of this slagging off of the captain

It's a sad state of affairs that we still let umpires adjudicate this award. Judd was a great player, is still a good player but there's no way he was the best midfielder in the league in 2010 - obviously being a midfielder award.

That was one of the 60s Carlton blokes, who was in the trade of selling underwear, talking about Des Tuddenham always called him a poof but they were still mates, hence maybe Des liked poofs.
Why's it in this thread???

Why is it, mods, that people are allowed to go on and on about public figues being poofs, but if I called Godzke a poof, I'd be carded?
Let alone BtG ordering man-whores?
RIG giving gobbies in dunnies in public parks?
It's nice people take an interest. But if this is the best way they can let us know about their sexuality, by being constantly inquisitive of just about every footballer, and their bedroom habits, it's really a bit sad & stunted.
If you have a problem, report it. I guarantee that it'll draw our attention to it a hell of a lot quicker.
I checked my emails for reported posts this morning, but didn't read this thread until now.

Well done to Jobe but I will say one thing and I dont mean to be disrespectful but it shows how ordinary our list is atm that we dont have anyone who even has half the impact on games consistently that Jobe has to take any votes off him.

Jobe almost had as good a year as Judd, imagine if we won 11 games+

I can't - and won't - apologise for being in bed between 11pm and 7am, either.

I'm a mod on another forum, it's a pretty thankless job and everyone assumes you read every post, which is impossible.
The notify post function is how to get a mod's attention.

but seriously, thanks to mods for removing the post, got my backup this morning on reading it:mad:
A well deserved 16 votes. I thought he may poll between 10-12 votes given the season the team had. But 16 shows he was the shining light in what was a dissapointing year.

I think people will find it hard to argue that he is not 'elite' or an 'A grader' now.
Had a great year and played well (polled votes) in losing games.
Great effort by Jobe, he polled really well. Hopefully he can have another year like that and get in the AA team.
