Hi Footy fans...
Once again the question is raised... what has gone wrong over at Westies? The team that once held top spot for a good portion of the year has taken a pretty big dive. If that isn't bad enough, try playing at Elizabeth in the last quarter and having full time called by a passing train!! So here's this week's SANFL wrap for Round 17.
In the ABC Match of the Day on Saturday afternoon, Port Adelaide smashed a West Adelaide outfit hampered by injuries to star regulars to the tune of 51-points. Port is still outside the four still with hopes of a finals berth.
Over at Elizabeth, the match ended the match in controversial style with a siren sounding not from the ground siren but that of a train running behind the ground. However with only a three minute margin of error and Central taking the Blues to the cleaner anyway the match was declared over. The Bulldogs won by eight goals.
At Woodville Oval, the Eagles were given a very big scare by the visiting Roosters at the end of the first half. But the home team was then able to keep the visitors at arm's length and ultimately took the points with their four goal win.
Finally at the Parade, Norwood restored some lost pride agianst the Tigers although it took a bit of work in the second half. It took a 13 to five goal blitz to bury the visitors, the Redlegs winning by 34 points.
